For most people, Lynkeru's actions would have been extremely dangerous.
For Lynkeru, though, with her well-trained danger sense and extensive
combat experience, they were merely slightly dangerous. Take, for
instance, her danger sense - triggered when she felt Aerie's panicked
mental search - spurring her to roll forwards even before Indi could
shout a warning, and drawing her swords to block the follow-up strike
before she actually saw herself.
"'Was'?" 'Lynkeru' locked eyes with Lynkeru as their swords pressed
against each other. "'Is', so long as you're putting my parents in
danger. And what's this about Mimic? Is he in danger, too?"
The clang of swords attracted Bob's and Yolei's attention even before
Aerie's words. They looked up from a window below, Bob knowing how to
intervene but not certain which one to interfere with.
