"Wow. I'm almost to Pewter. I can't believe it's taken me this long to get here. Well, actually ... I guess I did get lost in Viridian Forest somewhat, " Trousle thought to himself. "And all those Pokémon that kept getting away from me... Well, I should be able to stay at a Pokémon Center tonight!" He continued walking along the path. He heard a slight noise from the grassy area off to his right and he turned to investigate it. As he approached the grass, there was a flurry of of wings and he found himself standing face to face (well, sort of) with a Pidgey. The Pidgey stood and looked at Trousle as if daring him to make a move. Trousle reached over to his belt and pulled off the Pokéball containing his Wooper. "OK, Wooper! Let's see what you can do!" He threw the Pokéball at the Pidgey. The pokéball opened and out came Wooper. "Wooper woop." "It's ok, Wooper. I know you can do this! Just try your best, ok?" Trousle didn't want to mention the several Pokémon they had tried to fight unsuccessfully in Viridian Forest. "OK, Wooper, tackle it!" Trousle's Wooper ran towards the Pidgey and jumped, actually hitting the Pidgey and landing on it's feet. The Pidgey lay on the ground and looked rather out-of-it. Trousle got one of the Lure Balls from his pocket and threw it at the Pidgey. The ball opened slightly and a light pulled the pidgey inside. The ball rocked slighty for a few minutes and then was still. A light on ball lit up to show that it now held a pokémon. "Wow! We did it, Wooper! Good job!" Trousle exclaimed. "Wooper? Woop woop?" The Wooper looked quizically at Trousle. "I don't think I'm going to give it a name yet. I want to name you first, Wooper. I know you want a good name, huh?" Trousle pointed Wooper's pokéball at him and said, "Wooper, return." The pokéball recalled Wooper into it and then was silent. Trousle clipped the two Pokéballs to his belt and walked on towards Pewter City. About an hour later, he was standing inside the Pokémon Center. He had handed the Pidgey over to Nurse Joy to be healed and was waiting patiently. "OK, here's your Pidgey. Good as new!" Nurse Joy handed Trousle the pokéball and started to walk away. She turned back towards Trousle and said, "And you'd better hurry along if you plan on going through Mt. Moon. It gets dark there rather early now and it's a dangerous place to be at night." "Well, if it's alright with you, I was planning on staying here at the Pokémon Center tonight," Trousle said. Nurse Joy gave a cheerful giggle and said, "Sure. That'll be just fine. You can use the room over there on the right." Trousle walked into the room, climbed into bed and fell asleep.
