All emotion disappeared from Sabrina's face. "Yes. There were several
reasons. Unfortunately, it would take too long to explain most of
them, but I can explain one of great relevance to you." She lowered her
head. "I apologize for having to use you as tools, but I sense a large
migration of people and pokemon from Hohto and Kanto to Hoenn in the
near future. Team Aqua and Team Magma, the local equivalents of Team
Rocket, need to be deterred from preying on the immigrants. Videotapes
of your...performance are already en route to their headquarters."
Liza and Kate looked towards the ceiling.
"Do not bother. I dismantled the spying equipment, and the spies, once
their purpose was surved." Sabrina's eyes glowed. "Bob. Mimic. Your
recent pursuer was but a warm up to the tests that the two Teams are
likely to throw your way, as representatives of our homes. It would
improve your chances if you teamed up with him. You may also wish to
know that several of the shiny unown you seek have made their way to
Hoenn, and that the two Teams are now battling over one of them."
"Sabrina say more than one purpose. Mimic wondering if Sabrina
predict gym leader pokemon trajectory?"
Sabrina smiled. "Yes, I foresaw that too. They made quite an
impression out front - and this gym needed a sign like that." Lunatone
and Solrock came floating back in past Sabrina as she said that,
shaking off pebbles of the rock they had briefly been embedded in.
Bob opened his mouth, question on the tip of his tongue...then closed
it again. "Umm, no, nevermind. I probably don't want to know the
answer."
"No. You don't."
Bob frowned. "Stop that!"
Sabrina chuckled. "What, reading your mind? I don't have to be a
psychic to know some things."
"You weren't?" Bob scratched behind his head again. "Ah, sorr-"
"You'll find many of Team Aqua's and Team Magma's former bases quite
close to each other. The cave near Lilycove might hold some clues to
their present location and activities."
"..."
"No, I'm not telling if I read that question from your mind."
"Sabrina no read from Bob's mind," the ditto interjected. "Read from
Mimic's."
"And how would you know that?" Sabrina leered at Mimic, daring him
to say it.
"Sabrina read Mimic's mind, Mimic read Sabrina's mind. Surprised let
Mimic. Professional courtesy?"
"You're not a professional."
"Amateur courtesy?"
"Are you saying I'm an amateur?"
"...umm...err...no?"
"Oh, so I was paid to be born with and practically raised by my talent?"
The smile on Sabrina's face and in her voice did nothing to reassure
Bob, who grabbed Mimic's arm. "Let's get out of here while we can."
