The beaten path was a fairly straight one, and not all that long, so it made
for some easy travelling. All and all it was a peaceful trip until something
clicked in Aerie's head. Being the one in front, she turned around.
"Um Bob?"
"What is it?" Bob asked, being sure not to trip over the rocks and stuff.
"If I was losing control at 5 or 6 Unown, and you're carring 8 of them with
you, why are you some mindless slave to them?"
Bob stopped dead at that one. Truth was that he never thought of that. What
he assumed was that since the two of them were doing what the Unown wanted
to do anyways, that they were being relatively peaceful and complacent. He
shut his eyes and thought about it for a few seconds. What he did see was a
different story. Somewhere in his mind, Dee and You were engaged in a
heated battle. Both were lashing out with vicious Hidden Powers and using
their own letter-specific abilities to fight. Dee was Directing thing to
attack You and You was Undoing whatever Dee did.
Aerie waved a hand in front of Bob's face just as he opened his eyes back
up. "Well?" Aerie asked, with a sort of impatient look.
"It appears that the the two strongest are fighting for control," Bob
started, looking a bit worried. "And the others don't seem to want to form
a collective of their own. Don't know whether they're scared to do it, but
I'm not about to tempt fate." He said seriously. "Me personally, I don't
care as long as they keep my mind in one piece after they're done up there,"
Bob joked afterwards.
Aerie stared at him like he was crazy. "Right, let's go"
"No arguments here."
So the pair kept going down the path towards the research facility. Outside
the facility, Raffy was snoring unter the one of the few trees that grew
inside the area. So far, the two researchers trying to get him to wake up,
or at least shut up, weren't succeeding. They looked at the oncoming Bob
and Aerie with a pleading look. When the pair actually arrived, Bob
sweatdropped.
"You want him to wake up, right?" He asked the researchers.
"Please."
Bob cleared his throat. "Raffy, look out for that Tyranitar!"
With a speed that would make a Rapidash look like a Slugma, Raffy woke up
and bolted straight for the Ruins, until realizing that there WAS no
Tyranitar. With an angry glare and a look that promised of Psychic, he
stomped over to Bob, who was already doubled over laughing.
After that mini-fight was over, the researchers went on about all of the
perils and the dangers and the forboding doom about the Unown. Paying
little heed and even less thanks, Aerie and Bob made a beeline for the
ruins.
The first minute actually inside the Ruins of Alph was normal until Aerie
started to act a bit paranoid. She had good reason to be as a new and
powerful presence was making itself known. As they delved a bit further
down into the Alph ruins, the presence got far stronger and even started to
worry Bob.
After what seemed like an eternal walk, the pair came to a larger room.
Hieroglyphs lined the walls of the chamber and it was here that the presence
was at its strongest yet. It was here that the walls began to pulse with an
almost eerie light, as if announcing something's or somone's arrival
