"Sure." Travis stated. "We were planning to head that way ourselves. We
need to win the badge there, and I do want to get the gym leader's thought
on Sableye. I wonder what he will make of him? As fascinated as he is with
Ghost types, i should think he has at least tried to discover something
about the Pokemon."
As Travis spoke, Becky pulled out her Pokegear. Looking at the time
displayed on the screen, she nudged Travis and said, "I have to get to the
shoot. They are expecting me."
"Shoot?" Robert asked.
"Becky is shooting a commercial today. Part of her endorsement deal after
winning the Whirl Cup." Travis explained.
"Ah, I see." Robert responded. Looking at Becky with a smile, he added
"Good luck with that. Break a leg, as they say."
"Whose leg?" Becky asked, her face serious. When Robert sweat dropped, she
allowed herself a smile to show that she was kidding.
"If you would like, you can come along and watch." Travis invited. "The
production company gave her permission to bring guests."
"Maybe later. Robert replied. "I've got to get some supplies laid in before
we leave town. It isn't that far to Ecruteak but you never know what you
run into along the way.
Travis nodded in understanding, then gave Robert the location of the video
shoot in case he wanted to stop by. The three trainers parted heading off
in different directions.

Becky was smiling as she completed the sentence "So try Seadra Salads
today. New and improved, made with only the freshest of ingredients!" For
the twenty-seventh time. She had been out on the hot sands of Olivine beach
for three hours taping the commercial. The first forty minutes had been
spent trying to get her in her wardrobe for the shoot.
Becky had fought, both in resistance and physically, the idea of wearing a
dress for the commercial. It had started badly, as soon as she approached
the location two obviously gay men and gathered her up and rushed her to a
trailer. No sooner had the door to the trailer closed when it flew open
again, made that way by the body of one of the two men flying backwards out
of it. Becky stood in the open doorway glaring at the man with hands on her
hips as she loudly declared that no man would be undressing her. Travis
rushed forward to calm his traveling companion and learned that the hapless
fellow had begun tugging at her clothing as soon as they entered the
trailer, and Becky had taken exception. The other man, who was a
hairdresser, stood inside the trailer looking scared to death.
It took the director, three members of the production company and Travis to
talk the female Black Belt into changing for the commercial. Now on the set
she was dressed in a yellow sun dress with her long black hair pulled into
a fancy french braid. It took one of the members of the Production company
showing her the contract she signed, specifically the clause about image,
to make her sullenly put on the dress. Travis had to admit, she looked
pretty good in it, especially with her hair done and make up applied.
She delivered her lines with a brilliant smile, but as soon as the director
cut the scene, she proved still put out by the circumstance. "Very good.
Jut one more take please." The director beamed, drawing a groan out of the
thirteen year old.
"Look, my face hurts from all this smiling." Becky complained. "Haven't we
done this enough?
"Just give me one more good take, and then we can move on to the final
part." The director conceded.
Becky sighed and moved away from the table she was seated at. She took her
mark and waited for the director to give her the cue. As Becky ran through
the commercial one more time, hitting her lines perfectly with the practice
she had that day, Travis looked around the set.
The purple haired teen was amazed by all that went into shooting a thirty
second commercial. There were three camera's, dozens of lights despite the
bright day, two boom microphones, countless people milling around, and
several monitors that some people were watching. As Travis took it all in
for the dozenth time that day, He saw someone that hadn't been around
before. It was a tall blonde man wearing a dark purple pin striped suit. He
wore mirrored shades, but seemed to be concentrating on Becky. Travis felt
a sense of uneasiness come over him as he studied the man. He noticed that
though the blonde guy was looking in Becky's direction, his head was
tilted. Following the man's imagined line of sight, Travis realized that he
was staring at the thirteen year old's midsection. Perhaps even lower.
Travis wondered if maybe the blonde dude was a pervert. But as he followed
the man's gaze more carefully. he recognized what the man must have been
staring at. In addition to the sun dress the production company had made
her wear, she also had on a discrete belt, dyed to match the yellow cloth.
Her red pokeballs stood out in sharp relief on the belt. Travis realized
that the man was staring at them with disturbing focus.
Travis studied the man as the guy watched Becky put through her paces on
the set. He was huge, standing at six foot three inches tall. His dark
pinstripe suit was form fitting and Travis could see that he was heavily
muscled. His blonde hair was cropped in a crew cut. Travis couldn't tell
the color of his eyes due to the mirrored shades, but imagined they were
blue. The purple haired teen got a sense of danger from the man, and
wondered what he was up to.
He was about to attempt to get closer to the man, but then the director cut
the scene and finally declared the day done. Travis turned to see Becky
react with relief, standing in place and stretching. He had only looked
away for a moment, but when Travis turned his attention back to where the
blonde man had stood, he was surprised to discover that the man had
silently slipped away. Travis looked around, amazed that someone that big
could move away without being seen, but it was as if the man had
disappeared into thin air.
Becky came walking up as Travis turned his attention back to the set. She
grabbed his arm and made him walk her back to the trailer, then guard the
door while she changed back into her regular clothing. She was so tired by
the time she came out, she had left her hair in the french braid, declining
when the gay make up man had offered to take it out for her. Claiming need
for rest, she asked to go back to the Pokemon center. Travis walked back
with her, pausing to admire the sunset before heading back into town. As
they walked Travis debated telling Becky about the blonde haired man, but
decided against it unless the man showed up again.
