"Well, most of the time I spent conscious I spent roaming the hideout.
Didn't have much of a problem dealing with the guards, for some reason
they were all asleep ..." Bob said, oh so sweetly.
Both Raffy and Sapphire gave them the unbelieving nods.
"Well, they WERE out cold when I was done with them. So anyhow, I
wandered into some room with some books on breeding,"
"They have breeding knowledge?" Sapphire asked, anticipating some
knowledge of Hoenn pokemon.
In response, Bob produced a book from under his sweatshirt. "Yep,
and I'm sending it home. It'll save the folks months of work." Bob
grinned. "Anyhow, after that, you lot came to save me and I guess
cause a little havoc among the firebugs. Unfortunitely, I have no idea
what happenned while I was out cold. But if your theories are right
about Grass-type soldiers, I pity them."
"Why?"
"Two words -- Ice Beam. Bane of my existance. Plenty of water
pokemon, at least in Johto, can learn it, and even some that aren't.
All them Aqua folk'll have to do is deep-freeze their base, and them."
"I guess." Sapphire admitted, having overlooked the less obvious
ice-baced attacks. His eyes glinted again in triumph. "And those
abilities?"
"I'm getting there. How to do this ..." Bob mused aloud, nobody
actually acking for a demonstation, except for his parents. "Well
for a start, look up Chikorita in a Poke-whatever sometime. You'll
get a good dose of information there, like potential. As for what I
can do ..."
#Aqua grunt in the bushes.# Raffy noted.
"Good timing" Sapphire noted absently.
"You're coming with us kid. Sic' em Crawdaunt" The grunt said
dramatically, releasing said pokemon. "Hyper Beam"
Sapphire looks a bit edgy, knowing full well what one of them could
do. Bob just braced himself. "You're only getting one demonstration
unless another idiot shows up, so watch carefully."
Hyper Beam met Reflet shield and strangely enough, the shield broke
only at the last second, making the most powerful normal-type move
that wasn't sacrificial feel like a light punch.
"Whoa." Sapphire noted, making mental notes rapidly.
The grunt, smirking thinking that it was over already was suitably
stunned when four vines quite effective bound the Crawdaunt in a
vice-like grip. "Ability number two. And if someone pulld that hood
of mine down, I can put this crab out of our misery."
Quick psychic voodoo from Raffy complied.
"Thanks." Bob said. The grunt was a little surprised at the leaf that
appeared. The surprise was amplified a bit when said leaf stuck
straight up and even fruther still when bluish dust put his now thrashing
pokemon firmly into dreamland. Vines returned to their source followed
quickly after by Bob's hood. "Better morons have tried and failed." Bob
called out to the grunt. "I'm starting to sound like you" He added, glaring
at the Girafarig.
Spooked at the ease in which his best fighter was removed from combat,
said Aqua grnt turned tail and ran.
"Good enough?"
"You sure you aren't hiding anything?" Sapphire asked, hoping to get the
full scoop.
"Couple of moves actually, but they're a bit too ... destructive for my liking"
Bob said, sighing. "Which reminds me to take a trip to Blackthorn when I
get back home."
