Ben was woken up by a friendly pokemon ranger, insisting that he was
taken to the pokemon center, but when he was told why - he fainted. When
he woke up, he was lying in bed, staring into space. It was then he
overheard a nurse speaking, "...we can't remove it..." He then realised
that the mawile was still attached to his leg. "HEY, GET IN HERE! I
DON'T WANT TO BECOME THE NEXT BANJO KAZOOIE! The nervous nurse came into
the room carrying a rucksack that looked strangely familiar (probabily
because it belonged to him) and a belt with six pokeballs set into it.
"I think we are going to have to keep you in..." She faltered. She was
talking to an empty bed.
The doors of the gym flew open, nearly coming off their hinges. "IS THE
LEADER IN" Ben yelled, his voice echoing round the dark hall. He was,
but he didn't look in a good mood. "He" was brawly, the fighting gym
leader, and one who was rather young but well built. "The ranger said
you quite talkative, are you toungue tide? Ben smurfed at his own joke.
"Dude, lets just say, its not my day for battles, right?" "Well that
makes two of us. Are we gonna start or what?" Brawly glanced at the
suspiciously mawile-shaped bump under the young trainers baggy trousers,
but looking at his expression, said nothing about it. "You may use two
pokemon, no time limit - LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!" Two smart taps on a bell
signed the start. Ben started with his chubby swampert while brawly
commenced with a Makuhita, that immidiately smashed into swampy chin
with a powerful arm thrust. Before ben could say a thing another arm
thrust floored his pokemon. "COMON, SWAMPY! Mud slap, NOW!" Swampy
jumped up and showered the smaller pokemon with mud. Makuhita flew at
Swampy in rage, but unfortunately, a wall got in the way. "ROUND ONE TO
CHALLENGER" Brawly's second pokemon was a mean, green Breloom. "You've
always got the right one for the job havn't you," Ben said as breloom
sapped swampy to knockout. "But can you beat this? Go Blade!" A large
Aggron came out and immidiately beat breloom into the back wall with his
hefty iron tail. "BATTLE AND MATCH TO THE CHALLENGER!" Brawly gruddingly
gave ben the Gym badge and a genorous amount of prize money. "It really
is not my day," he sighed.
After a quick visit to the pokemon center, carefully avoiding the nurse,
ben dished some money out to a man on the quay. Then he (and mawile)
chugged back towards Johto across the sea. Johto and Mt. Silver - every
trainer knew about the silver conference.
