From: Clayton (redneckdadd@yahoo.com) Subject: [PW!] The Mount Silver Lining Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2003-11-14 04:20:23 PST Two figures were walking through a forest. From the looks of them, one was definitely human and one was a pokemon. Despite that, the two of them were engrossed in conversation. "I'm telling you Chan, it'll work. First you combine your Ice Punch and your Confusion to wrap yourself in a cold aura. Then when you're opponent's all heated up, lead them into a spiral. Launch an uppercut Ice Punch at the end, and BAMF! Instant tornado attack." The human, a male, said. The pokemon looked at his trainer like he was crazy. "Medi cham," #THIS#, "Cham?" The trainer stopped, and set his duffle bag on the ground. rooting through it, he dug out a couple of old mangas with pages marked in them. Opening it to one of the marked pages, he handed the book over to the Medicham, for that's what he was. Chan scrutenized the pages, which showed the move in action quite effectively. "Medicham, *medi* cham med," #WORK Derek?!??# Derek winced at the inadvertant mental yelling. Regaining composure fast, he dug into his duffle bag again, only this time pulling out a book on natural disasters. Flipping it open to a section on tornadoes. Again, Chan scanned and scrutenized the pages. Even the Medicham had to admit, it had a chance of working, unlike that psychic-powered rock- breaking move that Derek suggested a year earlier. With that little interlude out of the way, the pair continued walking through the forest, eventually coming to the end of the forest, where they were assaulted by the bright afternoon sunshine. They quickly found the path and started down it. Friendly chatter and bickering were the order of the day. Night fell as they arrived in front of a Pokemon Center. The odd thing though was that that was all that was there. No houses, no Lab, nothing else was present. Derek scratched his head, and consulted his Hoenn map. Chan rapped him on the shoulder and pointed towards the Center. "Cham" Taking the hint, the pair walked into the Pokemon Center. It was filled with the standard fare, including the cheerful Nurse Joy. The pair strolled up to the counter, where Derek unfolded his map and started to figure out what went wrong. Joy's attempts to get through to the young man were just not working as he was too engrosses in the map to notice. However Chan did notice the nurse, and helped her out by swiping Derek's other pokemon off his belt and handing them to the nurse. Waving aside the healing for himself for the moment, the Medicham looked about to see if anything interesting was happening. He saw a sign for an upcoming pokemon tournament and got a mischiveous grin. When Nurse Joy came back, she was meant with a curious Medicham. "Medicham?" The fighter asked, pointing to the poster hanging on the wall. "The tournament?" Joy asked. Chan nods. "Well you could I guess. The requirements have been lowered a bit so that only 6 pokemon are needed to enter. Chan disappears from Joy's immediate sight. Having seen teleporting pokemon, this doesn't faze her too badly, but she is surprised a bit when the Medicham reappears 5 seconds later carrying a Pokenav -- Derek's pokenav to be precise, which was liberated from his duffle bag. She took the device and started to enter it into the computer. Everything seemed to check out plus he was registered has having 6 pokemon exactly. All the while, Derek was grumbling over his map. He traced the route that he thought they took. "Shouldn't have taken that left turn at Petalburg" he grumbled, before being shocked out of his musings by Nurse Joy. "Here you go Derek, you're all registered for the Silver Conference." She said, happy that there would be one less phone call to make. "And your pokemon will be ready in the morning." "Huh?" Was all he managed to get out, before noticing the supressed laughter coming from the Medicham. He glared daggers at the pokemon "You could have asked, you know," Derek deadpanned before folding his map back up and going off to find a nice quiet spot to sit and rest.
