Bo was scratching his head, wondering what had just happened. Was Smasher gone? After his Salamence had torn into his Starmie, he felt he owed him something... well, less obligation for him. "Hi!" Carol Ross told him, almost startling him off his Salamence. "Uh... hi," Bo said, still a little surprised. "Listen, you've got trouble heading your way." Carol pointed further down where Cass was running, clearly making her way towards them. "My advice is to split before you get anyone else mad at you..." "Yeah... sounds like a good idea... Salamence, let's get out of here!" "Hey, hold it, wait a second!" Carol jumped onto the Salamence's back. "Okay, we can go now!" "...Who are you, anyway?" Bo asked suspiciously. "A friend. Call me Carol! I heard about your fight with that Retwin guy. Any enemy of his is a friend of mine!" "Finally, someone makes sense around here." The Salamence carried them away just as Nori and her Natu Set appeared near the spot Salamence and Bo had been fitting. "Watch out!" Carol warned him. A powerful Ice Beam hit Salamence and he plummeted to the ground, with Carol hanging on to one of his wings. Bo stood confidently on Salamence's back, looking back at the Dragonite released by Cass. Once on the ground, Salamence shook his head and growled. "Easy, we can take them!" The SHAKK-master jumped off his disoriented Salamence and took out another Pokéball. "It's time to fight, GenKnight, show them your might!" "Er... you mind letting me borrow one?" Carol asked, scratching the back of her head. Bo looked at her suspiciously, but then tossed her another Pokéball. Carol took it, holding it close to her, admiring the shiny finish... it was a nice, shiny Pokéball... "Yeah, thanks! You're a life-saver. Go... whoever you are!" Bo's strange-looking Fearow, SureSwift2, appeared on the ground. It looked at Carol, but Bo nodded to him. "She's a friend," he told the Fearow, who nodded back. Carol grinned to herself, then prepared herself for the battle. TBC? (Hey, you've got an ally now, SHAKK) Jose L.
