At that moment, two Aquas in lab coats entered. The first, a blue-haired
woman, declared, "Okay, what do we..." Upon noticing Bob, she and her partner
looked at him in shock. "What's he doing here?!"
Before anyone else could say anything, another voice said in a deep tone,
"He's here to make certain he doesn't become a threat to our organization or to
anyone else, preferably in a case that leaves him alive and in one piece. I'm
sure you don't have a problem with that, do you Sandra?"
Sandra sweatdropped, then replied, "Of course not, sir."
"Good," Leif replied. The senior Aqua then turned his attention towards the
lab techs and asked, "What's our status?"
"The good news is, we have a firm idea of how much the Magma programming
took hold," the lead tech replied. "The bad news is, we can't remove it, only
weaken and contain it. We recommend that he take Thyme with him."
"Approved," Leif replied. With a glance towards Bob, he asked, "I hope you
don't mind having another Psychic-type with you."
Bob shrugged. "I don't mind the company, so long as it helps with the
problem."
"I hoped you'd say that," Leif replied. Turning his attention to Sven and
Peabody, he asked, "Where's Wanda?"
"She's in the Cafeteria," Peabody answered. "Assuming we aren't needed for
anything else, we can head down and keep an eye on her. By the way, how did the
rescue go?"
"Far more smoothly than I feared," Leif replied. "I ran into a Ditto who
offered a hand; he should be recovering in the medical bay. I'm going to head
down there now to see how he's doing. In the meantime, keep me posted on
anything going on here."
"Right," the lead tech replied. "Jack, Sandra, let's get to work."

Back in the Aqua Base's Cafeteria, Elsa sat and enjoyed her small meal;
Mudkip continuing to tear through Jack's remaining food. Roselia, who had
finally decided to have some food herself, peacefully ate an Aquav Berry in
silence, her new friend Jaws silently eating a few Pecha Berries. Despite
trying to keep his mind on his meal, the large Sharpedo couldn't help but
notice the tension in the air between the young woman and her first Pokémon. At
the same time, Jaws couldn't help but feel responsible; he'd helped to create
the wedge between the two of them. Sadly, Elsa couldn't understand him, and he
couldn't really help to heal any gap they might have. If he did anything now,
it might only get worse.
As Jaws sighed, deep in thought over his current situation, a familiar voice
piped up, "I was hoping we'd find you here."
The four looked up to find Sven, Peabody and Solitaire heading towards them,
trays of food in the two males' hands.
Elsa sighed in relief, then asked, "How were things down in the lab?"
"Mixed results," Peabody replied, settling into an empty chair. "But unless
something catastrophic happens, he won't be blowing the base to shreds."
"Which is good for all of us," Sven added in as he started on his meal.
"Meanwhile, Leif's back from the rescue mission," Peabody happily reported.
"He got everyone out, humans and Pokémon. Some minor injuries, but nothing
serious."
Elsa sighed again, glad that Mariana was alright. "So, what now?"
"Bob and his Pokémon will be here for a little while, then we'll let them go
on their way," Peabody answered. "Meanwhile, there's one other issue we have to
worry about."

Leif entered the medical bay to find Mimic fully conscious, still being
watched by the young woman he had slightly injured during their escape.
Upon noticing her superior's arrival, the young Aqua agent rose and said,
"Sir!"
"Easy," Leif said with a raised hand. He looked to the Ditto and asked, "How
are you holding up?"
"Mimic recovering, thanks," Mimic replied. "You have Bob here, right? Trying
to get rid of Magma personality?"
"That was the original intention," Leif answered. "However, at this point,
the best we can do is contain it. Hopefully, that'll be enough to last us for a
while. We're leaving a Medicham with him to help, but I doubt that will be
enough."
"Mimic no see reason not to stick with Bob," the Ditto chimed in.
"Nor do I," Leif replied. "But I'd rather you had a hand just in case." He
turned to the guard and motioned for her to leave. After she did so, Leif
continued, "During the raid on the Magma base that got the two of you out,
there were numerous individuals with unique abilities. One in particular caught
my attention."
"If Leif talking about girl with purple hair..." Mimic warned.
"No, one with brown hair," Leif replied. "Alexandria Masters. She may help
to keep that second personality contained. And if worse comes to worse, she
could help to stop Bob in the event of a rampage. Should you come across her
again, please inform her of all this."
"How you know so much about Alex?" Mimic asked.
"She has me to thank for losing her father," Leif answered sadly.
