Nori decides, after a moment's thought. "If I stay in this Pokemon Center too long, I'll probably end up being summoned off on some bizarre mission and never returning. Or disappearing into limbo." When Chan the Medicham gives her a disbelieving look, she shrugs and says, "Hey, it's happened to other people." "Good, at least that's settled." Cassandra breathes a sigh of relief. "Before we set out, we ought to figure out where we're going. Smasher's a Pokemon Trainer, so that gives us some idea of which landmarks might have piqued his interest. Aside from the Gym and the local shops, he might have visited the Devon Corporation and the Trainer's School." The tall, red-haired woman strokes her chin in thought, "Also, since he's into extreme sports, he might have decided to visit Dewford Town, where there are a lot of like-minded people. We should stop by the docks to see if the ferry captain can recall meeting anybody who fit Smasher's description." "Great idea, Cass." Derek agrees. "There are some rough characters down by the docks, but don't worry. Chan and I will have your back." The Medicham rolls his eyes, knowing that with the exception of some of the abandoned piers in the older area of town, the wharfs of Rustboro are perfectly safe. Nori also rolls her eyes, unimpressed by Derek's chivalry since none of it was directed at her. "If we run into any trouble, my Pokemon and I will be able to take care of ourselves. Pyromaniacal gangbangers aren't much of a threat when you've got a Blastoise by your side." Rubix the Blastoise scowls at her from his spot on the couch in front of the television. "Who said I was going with you? I try to limit my number of ass-savings to one per day, and you used up today's with your last escapade. Besides, this is the episode of '249' where Mankey Sutherland finally encounters a Lugia. I've been waiting all season for this." "Fat lot of help you are!" Nori stomps her foot in aggravation, causing the Larvitar who's sitting on the floor beside her to jump. She frowns down at the Rock Skin Pokemon before continuing, "Well, if you're not going to come with us, can you please help me out by keeping an eye on Big Time? I'd rather leave him here, so that when we DO get jumped by Magma grunts, at least HE won't get hurt." Rubix debates whether he really wants to spend the next few hours with nobody but Smasher's lugubrious Larvitar for company. He grudgingly gets to his feet, "On second thought, I will come with you." Big Time exhales a deep sigh, not very happy about being used as a bargaining chip. Oblivious to the Larvitar's feelings, or maybe just too impatient to care, Nori scoops the little Pokemon up in her arms, and starts walking towards the door. > > Derek grabbed some of his own stuff, most notably his umbrella. > > "You neven know when it rains, whether it's water, cats, dogs or bad guys," Derek > said, attempting to sound all wise and sage. > > Chan shook his head, while thinking that perhaps him and Cass were the only > perfectly sane ones present. > > TBC > > ------- > Clayton > > Random Tagline: > Moogle?
