Keiko slammed the door to her room in the Pokemon Center, angrily pulled
off her clothes, and flopped onto her bed. She glared at the ceiling as
if it had offended her, acted like it had no idea why she was suddenly
so upset, and assumed that it was "that time of the month." She sighed
heavily and sat back up.
It's not good to internalize your anger like that, she thought. Once
her Pokemon were healed, she would go out and train them in order to
blow off some steam. Not that it was healthy to take it out on people
or small, furry animals, but at least it would be more constructive.
It was just one battle, anyway. Somebody had to lose, and people lose
gym battles all the time. It's not that bad.

Keiko heard a knock on her door and got up to answer it. A Chansey
greeted her with her PokeBelt. Keiko accepted it and watched the Lucky
Pokemon waddle off down the hall. She released her Swablu and sat down
with it on her lap.
"I'm sorry, Skyler," Keiko said to the Cotton Bird Pokemon. "I
should've known better than to accept a three-on-three battle at an
Electric Gym with a Flying-type and a Water-type, but I seriously though
Vampyra could handle it. I feel like I let all three of you down."
"Swablu," Skyler replied as Keiko placed her half-filled PokeBelt on the
nightstand. She lay down on the bed, pushing aside the bag of clothing
given to her by that tragic pair of Pokemon Trainers.
"We just need more training, right?" Keiko asked herself more than she
asked her Pokemon. "Next time we walk through those doors, we'll be
more pre-"
Keiko stopped short as a shirt filled her vision. Skyler dragged it off
her head and began folding it as best as a Pokemon lacking prehensile
limbs could. Keiko plucked off a note that had been left on the bag.

"Well, I may have given up any advantage I had in that gym, but at least
I helped those two out," Keiko said with a slight smile. She began
examining the contents of the bag herself. "I don't think I have much
more room for clothes in my pack. Maybe I can store them electronically."
Keiko fished out a jacket and examined it. It was all black with a red
'R' on the chest. It was in pretty good condition, considering the hard
times she imagined the previous owners went through.
"This looks pretty cool," she mused. She put it on and zipped it up all
the way to her neck. After looking at herself in a nearby mirror, she
picked up her belt pack from where she left it on the floor and
extracted a pair of blue jeans.
She examined the look in the mirror for a while, then unzipped the
jacket down to her chest to expose a little clevage.
"Yeah, that's totally badass," she noted with amusement. She then
picked up the clothing Skyler managed to fold up and took them over to
the room's computer for storage.

Keiko was still wearing the outfit as she passed through the Pokemon
Center's lobby on the way out, much to Nurse Joy's continued comfort.
She stopped at the door as a pair of trainers were making their way in.
The boy, wearing a black windbreaker and a cowboy hat, almost
immediately pulled a PokeBall off his belt and took an aggressive stance.
"You almost had me fooled with those pants, Rocket," he growled. "I
don't know what you're up too, but I intend to put a stop to it right now!"
"Hold on!" Nurse Joy exclaimed, skidding to a stop between Keiko and the
aggressor. "Pokemon Battles are not allow in this Pokemon Center!"
"You should call Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy," the boy said. "This girl is
a member of Team Rocket!"
"What!?" Keiko exclaimed, taken aback. "I'm not a member of anything!"
"Rockets are always identifiable by the big, red 'R' on their chests,"
the boy illucidated. "They're a group of criminals who steal and
swindle Pokemon, both wild and trained, and sell them on the black
market for profit."
"My goodness!" Nurse Joy remarked.
"I... I'm not a criminal!" Keiko said defensively. "I got this jacket
for helping a couple of Trainers who were down on their luck!"
"Likely story!" the boy argued.
"I think she's telling the truth," said the girl in a black skirt and
red jacket that came in with him.
The boy eased up and put the PokeBall away, saying, "Well, you tend to
know these things, Val. But you should be careful around whoever gave
you that jacket, lady. They probably shouldn't be trusted, especially
when rare Pokemon are concerned."
"But I traded them my Minun for their Geodude," Keiko said. Then, in
more sheepish tones, she added, "And then I gave them their Geodude back
in exchange for some old clothes."
"Sounds like you got burned," the boy said. "Badly. If I were you, I'd
seek them out and get that Minun back before they sell it to someone
else. Did you see which way they were heading?"
"I believe they went North," Nurse Joy replied.
"There, now you have a lead," the boy said to the somewhat shell-shocked
Keiko before heading further into the Pokemon Center. "Happy hunting."
Keiko shuffled almost trance-like out of the Pokemon Center. She
couldn't believe those two poor souls were really criminals. If she
didn't do something soon, they might sell off both Sparkler and Density
merely to fill their greedy pockets!
Keiko's blank expression turned into a feirce one as he removed her
jacket and marched northward. She was determined to get those Pokemon
back and teach them not to mess with her emotions again.
To be continued...?
