[NS: Forgive me, but I think we'd best wrap this up, hm?] As the sun began to rise on the SS Tidal, the numerous participants in this usual event were left surprised, startled, and downright freaked out by the whole experience. "This...is irritating," Alex eventually declared, her own limits beginning to be tested. She then took a deep breath and said, #Cue, forgive me if I sound cruel. However, you can't keep up these actions forever. Eventually, you're gonna run out of power to perform your Hidden Power technique. Now, I need your assistance for Aerie. I promise you, here and now, that if you allow me to capture you, I will release you as soon as I possibly can.# #When will that be?# Cue replied. #When no one will be around to recapture you,# Alex said in turn. Within Derek's dufflebag, Cue blinked again, and considered his options. Finally, he came to a decision. #Who are you?# #My name is Alexandria Masters. I am the daughter of Lyle Masters and Helen Mass, an heir to the MasterCorp company and a representative of the planet Extaxia. I want my friend Aerie to be happy, and that can be accomplished with your aid, and far easier than with the wishes. I will go wherever I have to in order to ensure the safety and prosperity of those I've come to honor and cherish. I serve, trust, and protect those who stand by my side. And I am bound by my word.# Cue blinked. This one, it seemed, was a bit more whole, as if she had questioned herself in the past. She had some doubts, yes, but these doubts didn't seem to make her want changes. She was prepared to take the hardest possible path to success, no matter the odds. This kind of person, Cue enjoyed, and was quite curious as to how this person came to their decisions. #Do you have a spare Poké Ball handy?# Cue finally asked. #Yes,# Alex answered. #Very well. I shall freeze time once more for everything save you and I. In the brief time we have, you shall capture me within the Poké Ball. Is this plan agreeable?# #Quite,# Alex replied. With those words, Cue froze time once more. Alex looked around as she pulled an empty Poké Ball from the sixth slot on her belt, amazed that such power was even possible. Cue, meanwhile, wiggled its way out of Derek's bag, then floated over to Alex, looking at her intently with his one eye. #You will keep your word?# Cue asked. "I promise," Alex replied. Cue blinked, then said, #Then I am ready.# Cue tapped the button on the empty Poké Ball twice, and was quickly zapped inside. A small chime rang out, and time around Alex returned to normal. "Glad that's over," Alex sighed to herself. "What do you mean?" Cass asked. "Mom would be proud, Cass," Alex said, turning to her elder sister. "I struck a good deal for everyone." "You mean...?" Aerie asked. Alex nodded. Aerie gave a relieved sigh. "Not bad." Lynkeru, meanwhile, was able to put two and two together. "You captured...!" "Yes, I did," Alex replied. "And I don't need to be a Vulcan to remind you that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. Aerie needs the help of this being, and nothing is going to stop me from making certain that she gets it. If you're that desperate to capture a Shiny, there's one more floating around here somewhere, so he's all yours. Now, if no one minds..." At this point, Alex yawned loudly. "I've had a long night, and I need some sleep." Alex turned to Aerie and said, "Later today, after I get some shut-eye and the Contests are over with, we'll have that talk with your parents. Okay?" Aerie nodded. "Alright," Alex replied. Turning to Lauren, she said, "I'd stick to my room for the rest of this cruise if I were you. I have a Murkrow who isn't too fond of you people. Capishe?" Lauren nodded. "Now, does anyone else have anything they need to take care of?" Alex asked. TBC?
