"Is this a private party, or can anyone join?"
Cass blinked. "Dee?!?"
The ditto, currently in the form of an army general but using his normal
voice, nodded. "It seems your opponents have ticked off quite a few of
the audience, so I asked if they'd lend me their pokemon for a moment.
Some of the wild pokemon were willing to lend a paw, too."
"Great! Can you send out an Ice type?"
"Ha! *A*, single, pokemon? Deary, I'm no pokemon trainer; I've *long*
since played by my own rules. ATTEN-HUT!"
The nearby trees blossomed, their leaves shaking from the masses of
pokemon within as heads emerged and eyes opened up deeper in the
foliage.
The nearby buildings opened up, pokemon seeming to swarm out from every
pipe, vent, doorway, crack, and other opening.
The ground erupted, as fields of digging pokemon broke the surface and
poked their heads out.
The skies darkened, as a dark cloud of pokemon rose from behind every
nearby cover to partially blot out the sun.
In truth, there were far fewer pokemon than it seemed. Dee had
impressed people this way before, and knew a few tricks. Most of the
aerial pokemon, for instance, were Double Team copies of but five
pokemon. A few Tangela made many leaves rustle as if several times
their number were hidden within, while gaining a rare chance to stretch
their tentacles without letting anyone see much of the pokemon they
normally hid. Some of the digging pokemon had churned up more dirt
than necessary, to make it seem as if more pokemon lay partially buried
beneath the dirt. And so forth. The deception was not necessary in
this case, but it was a habit from long ago, never conquered since the
need for the circumstance had likewise vanished long ago.
"Awright, let's not do too much collateral damage. Only a few of you
need attack just yet." Dee had already told the pokemon this would be
part of the ruse, to disguise the fact that his real force - and thus
the number of actual attacks that would be launched - numbered in the
mere double digits, instead of the five, six, or seven decimal positions
that it seemed. "READY!"
"Salamence," "Blazerion," "ATTACK HIM!" Evir and Bo called out, pointing
to Dee.
"AIIIIIM!" Dee dodged by teleporting over to Cass and Nori, then
pointed at Bo and Evir.
"Anubis, get back here!" Nori called, followed quickly by Cass's, "You
too, Nosedive!"
Dee smiled, grateful that they had taken the hint, although he was not
entirely certain whether his temporary recruits would actually attack
after so many had been trained for one on one battles. "FYAHH!!!!"
Fifty streams of angry energy and other projectiles streaked towards Bo
and Evir...
TBC?
[NS: I can see multiple ways they can get out of this, if people want
the battle to go on.]
