Recently, Phoo has teleported into a field lightly sparsed with boulders, in
hopes of honing his pokemon's skills. As oftentimes done, pokespeech is
pretranslated for your convenience.
Phoo looked around himself. This meadow would be a perfect place to train
his pokemon in. There was tall grass, and those strange boulders positioned in
the area. The sun was gleaming, and droplets of dew hung from the plants. The
entire area was hedged in by a forest. "Aurelia, Krabby, Lickitung! Come out
now! It is time to train," Phoo spoke out loud. In a flash of energy, the
three pokemon emerged from their pokeballs. After a brief pause, Phoo's claw
lit up with energy, and touched each of the three pokemon in turn. Of course,
he was communicating with them psychically, and this is the message he gave
them, "Alright, everyone! Today we are going to be practicing our skills.
Hmm... practice in whatever manner you wish. I will train, as well. Together
we will improve!"
The four of them split into three groups, each going to a different end of
the field. Phoo went to the south, Aurelia and Licktiung went to the north,
and Krabby went east.
*** To the north ***
Aurelia decided that she would test her Chansey powers out first by seeing
how many well she could cook eggs. Aurelia pulled out her all-purpose,
non-stick frying pan from her pouch, as well as a dozen eggs and some other
basic cooking materials. "Now, to make the best omelet I can!" Aurelia spoke,
earnestly. She cracked two of the eggs, and emptied the contents into the
frying pan, throwing the shells away.
"Lickitung, would you mind starting the flame? There is no source of fire
here," Aurelia said, as she looked into the frying pan.
Lickitung responded, absent-mindedly, "... what? ... ... oh ... ... okay.
Me set fire for ... you. But Lickitung want ... ... ... ... some omelet when
you done!"
The two pokemon agreed, and Aurelia stepped aside from her frying pan.
Lickitung started quivering and pulsating. Slowly, a soft-red color started to
build up in Lickitung. Suddenly, with a burst, an enormous blast of fire shot
out of Lickitung's mouth and shot directly below the frying pan. That area
burst into flames, and Lickitung looked pleased with himself.
"Thank you, Lickitung! However, could you please not create such a large
blast, next time?" Aurelia asked, as she stomped out some wandering flames.
Lickitung shrugged, and frolicked away, bouncily, with a merry tune in his
mind. Aurelia proceeded to flip the well-fried eggs, and started sprinkling
jack cheese and celery on the meal. Aurelia started to hum herself, as she
thought of an old tune she once heard as a young Chansey. The Chansey
continued to make the omelet, with her merry tune growing in her mind.
*** To the east ***
Krabby wasn't sure of what he should do. He wasn't even quite sure of all
his abilities. He started to use his Vice Grip on a nearby boulder, and began
to crush it. Just then, an idea came to Krabby. "Why... why don't they make a
machine to wash the dishes AND do the laundry? And at that, why not make it
solar-powered and pocket sized? It could even cut and sort letters! Clerical
work will be outsourced!" With this inspiration, Krabby began searching for
some wood to begin a new invention.
Upon finding some wood, Krabby set to work cutting the wood to meet
proper dimensions. Fortunately, Krabby also had some screws and nuts he had
picked up on the street back in Celadon. With these simple materials, Krabby
worked on what he considered to be a revolutionary invention. Krabby's mouth
started bubbling as he worked with glee.
*** To the northeast ***
Lickitung was still prancing off on his merry way, with a song in his
head. Lickitung started to hum outloud (to music):
"Oh... if I only had a washer, washer washer washer washer,
If I only had a washer, I'd rinse the jar with soap!
If I had a jar of jellybeans, I would not eat tofu,
And if the floor was not a mess, I'd gladly clean it up!
Oh... if I only had a washer, washer washer washer washer,
If I only had a washer, I'd rinse the jar with soap!
The cookies are on the floor, the leeks are quite a mess.
And our whole entire family is vying for that soap!
Oh, if I only had a washer, washer, washer..."
(unknown to many, this is a traditional Lickitung folk song)
Lickitung was so inspired by the music that he started to dance. As
Lickitung started to dance, petals and leaves started swirling around him.
Soon, as he danced, the entire field was filled up with the sweet smell of
petals. Lickitung gleefully kept on dancing.
*** To the south ***
Phoo was content with all his pokemon's progress. But Phoo decided that
he had to train, as well. Turning towards the west side of the field, Phoo
started to concentrate on the ground 20 yards ahead of him. As Phoo
concentrated, the ground he was focusing on turned red. It then started to
steam, and fire started lapping out of the ground. As the low flames swirled
around, Phoo continued to concentrate. Soon pillars of fire were leaping up to
5 feet in the air. Phoo would have kept on going, but he suddenly heard a
noise, and stopped his fire training. The noise came from deep within the west
side of the field.
Of course Phoo was very curious about the noise, and wanted to find out
what it was. Creeping along towards the west side of the field, Phoo heard the
faint murmurings grow louder. Phoo continued onwards, stealthfully crawling
all the way.
Phoo had reached a very large boulder. The noise was clearly audible
here. Phoo believed that whatever was making the sound was on the other side
of the boulder. Phoo peered out from behind the boulder, and saw...
A very strange Pikachu. A Pikachu wearing a black box, and had pokemon
surrounding it. "What? Hmm... that is the Clan Caterpie Pikachu. This is
very strange... is this Pikachu... a pokemon trainer? Hmm... hmm, hmm. How
paradoxical. Hmm... let me recap what I know about this pikachu:
It wears a strange black box around its neck...
It appears to be a pokemon trainer...
It travels with Clan Caterpie, with no apparent pokeball...
It spoke to me...
Hmm... yes! That is it! That Pikachu talked to me when Aurelia cured it!
Now, put two plus two together. This Pikachu is obviously a full-fledged
pokemon trainer... of Clan Caterpie, and has somehow learned to speak English.
Well... I guess stranger things have happened. Oh... well. Is... is it
possible that maybe this is the one... that encountered Mewtwo a month ago?
Hmm..." Phoo fell deep into thought, as he pondered the events that had
occurred.
*** Center field ***
Krabby was sidling along towards the center of the meadow. Once he
reached there, he pulled out a small, wooden ball, no more than one inch in
diameter. Then Krabby called out, "Aurelia! Lickitung! Look what I did!"
Aurelia and Lickitung came from their respective corners of the field, and
Aurelia was carrying an almost completed omelet. "Observe!" Krabby cried out,
as he tightened the sphere with Vice Grip. "This is my latest invention! The
Dishomat!"
"This little device can be used to perform all sorts of household chores.
Now, look closely!" Krabby said, as he threw the sphere to the ground, like a
pokeball. Suddenly, a dishwasher popped out of the ball. "Modern convenience,
at its best!" Krabby cried out, as the dishwasher was sucked back into the
object. "This little baby also does laundry, cutting, slicing, dicing, source
of light, painting, whitewashing, coin exchanging, and is also a full-function
slot machine!"
Aurelia was putting the last sprinkles of garlic on her omelet. "And
this... is my creation!" Aurelia cried out, as she unveiled her completed dish
from the frying pan. "One of my best yet... this field contains great natural
seasonings," Aurelia spoke, with the same affinity for eggs as any other
Chansey. Lickitung and Krabby started ripping at the omelet, and Aurelia let
it go, leaving only a piece left for Phoo.
Krabby and Lickitung had almost finished the omelet, but Krabby had the
last piece in his claw. With surprising agility, Lickitung shot out his tongue
and grabbed the omelet chunk. Soon, all three pokemon found themselves chasing
each other in the petal-ridden field. After almost an hour of playing, a flash
of light appeared, and Phoo showed up, via teleportation.
"Hello, everyone! Having... a pleasant time, I assume? Why, thank you,
Aurelia, this omelet looks wonderful, and thank you, Krabby, for this
strange... wooden ball. Oh, and Lickitung, you have covered this entire field
with petals by using your Petal Dance! Magnificent!" Phoo said, as Aurelia and
Krabby handed him the things they had made.
Phoo tucked away his gifts, and said, earnestly, "Now, everyone. We have
had a good day, and I believe... that I have located my mission objective.
We'll be heading west from here, and following a certain Pikachu we have come
to know. Well, good job, everyone! Back in the pokeballs, now," Phoo said, as
he recalled Aurelia, Krabby, and Lickitung.
Phoo marched off to find the strange Pikachu...
There! Now I have posted something and have Phoo following Icy specifically.
I'm sure they'll meet at the auction. Ooh! (quivers) I just can't wait until
the Pokemon Auction!
