Well, I'm back from oblivion.. from the depths of hell, reading a
mind-numbing 900 posts, many of them 5-20kb PW!s.. my gawd.. if I didn't
love Pokemon so much I'd go insane!
Well, now for my feeble attempt at putting chaos to order. Er.. I mean order
to chaos.
Damn.. *mental note: Never write PW!s at 2:30 in the morning*
------------
Charmy slowly awoke from his position above Oz on the roof of the Pokémon
center. Groaning, he sat up, rubbing his aching back. "Charrrrr..", he
muttered, used to spending most of his time in the comfort of a Pokéball, or
since recently, Jeff's hospital bed.
Jeff, where had he gone? He still felt his presence, he had to be somewhere
in the city, but he couldn't find him.
Staring down, he saw Oz was under attack by his rather unhappy Sandshrew,
who did not take kindly to being disturbed from his sleep.
Oz, what a strange person, yet kind. He had freed him from what would
certainly have been a horrifying experience at the hands of unkind trainer.
However, he knew who he wanted his trainer to be. He just wanted to Jeff, he
felt special with him.
"Mander... char..", he said to himself, attempting to encourage his own
faltering hopes.
Oz looked up at the sudden sound. "Charmy, your awake!", he clambered to his
feet, trying to forget about the disturbing experience with Tanos.
"Char char!"
"Whats that?", Oz paused, then his face turned serious. "Charmy.. it doesn't
look like were going to find Jeff here.."
Charmy turned away from him. "Char...."
He couldn't be gone, he was here! Somewhere. But he would never find him
like this..
"You can always have me for a trainer!", Oz suggested.
The Charmander found it very hard to face the reality of the situation. He
couldn't give up.. but was there really any chance of finding him in a city
as massive as Celadon?
Oz felt a pang of psychic energy in his head and keeled over. "Uggg..."
Charmy gasped in surprise. "Char?!!"
"Argh.. Tanos..", he whispered to himself, before recomposing in front of
Pokemon. "I'm fine.. just a little bit tired. Charmy, my next stop is the
Pokemon Island, its a small Pokemon park near Vermillion... would you like
to come along?"
Charmy shook his head. No, he would keep trying to find Jeff.
"Alright then...", Oz stretched and stood up. "Would you be ok by yourself
in the city? I really must get going to the island..", Oz rubbed his head
wearily. If he didn't, Tanos might split it open.
Charmy swallowed nervously. He didn't like the idea. But he knew that if he
was to find Jeff, he would have to stay.
"Charr...", he clutched his head in confusion.
------------
"So, your finally awake?", the voice of Giovanni boomed in the small room.
Jeff blinked, adjusting to the light. "Wha... what?"
"Don't you remember me?", Giovanni grinned.
"Huh? Oh its you! Did you find Charmy?"
Giovanni shook his head, his face showing genuine dissapointment. "No, we
couldn't find him yet, but don't worry. We'll take care of it."
"Can I help you look for him?", Jeff rose slowly. "I might be able to find
him!"
"No Jeff, those bad people might want to attack you again.", Giovanni tried
to fake a fatherly voice. "You'd best stay here."
Jeff didn't like being babied. "I have to find Charmy! I know he's here,
somewhere!"
"How do you know that?"
"It..s.. its just a feeling.. thats all.", Jeff frowned and then headed for
the door.
Giovanni quickly stepped in front of him. "It's much too dangerous for you,
don't worry, Alice and Alysia are looking for him as we speak.
"Please, let me go.", he tried to walk around Giovanni, but again was
blocked.
Giovanni, having lost his patience, shoved the small boy against the wall.
"Your not going anywhere, do I make myself clear?"
Jeff struggled to free himself from the large man's grip, but it was futile.
"Let me go!", he winced in pain as the man tightened his grip.
Giovanni grinned smugly. "I'm afraid the last thing we are going to do is
let you go." With that, he shoved the boy to the ground.
"Why are you holding me here!?"
Giovanni turned slowly, focusing on Jeff's wide brown eyes. "Why, for
research of course."
Those same eyes widened with terror. "R...research?"
"Why yes. And I would like to be there first hand when we guage your
potential, which is why you and I are going on a little trip?"
"What sort of trip?"
"Why to an island of course..", Giovanni checked his watch. "My agents will
have completely taken over it in just another day or so. We are going to get
front row seats."
"An island? What sort of island?"
Giovanni chuckled. "As if I would tell you. Now..", he turned to leave. "Are
you going to come willingly, or..", he cracked his knuckles. "not..?"
Jeff backed off against the wall nervously.
Giovanni turned around. "I'm losing patience."
Swallowing, Jeff thought of a plan to escape. "Caspian,", Jeff placed his
hand on his belt, withdrawing Rattata's Pokeball, "att-"
However he was cut off by the much swifter Giovanni, who, with one quick
movement, brought his fist forward, slamming it into Jeff's chest, and
sending him crashing against the wall.
"I figured you might try something..", Giovanni rubbed his knuckles. "Take
him."
With that, two Rocket members entered the room and grabbed the dazed Jeff,
dragging him out of the room.
Giovanni followed, chuckling softly.
--------------
"Char!", Charmy gasped as he sunk to the floor.
"Charmy? Whats wrong?", Oz turned swiftly around.
Charmy's world spun for a moment, before things went back into focus. Jeff
was in danger. He knew it. "Charmander der char!! Mander mander char!"
Sandshrew quickly translated for a confused Oz. His face darkened as
Sandshrew explained. "What? Jeff is leaving the city? How do you know this?"
Charmy shrugged nervously.
"Do you know where he is heading?"
"Charmander... char.."
"The island? Are you sure?"
Charmy shook his head.
"Well then, its a better lead than nothing, you better come with us.", Oz
motioned to Charmy.
"Charman..", a tear rolled down his cheek. He felt a premonition, something
terrible was going to happen.
With a sigh, and a gentle swish of his tail, he wearily followed behind Oz.
------------
Oz walked through Celadon aimlessly. "I don't get it, Tanos said that
someone would contact me! There is nothing--"
"Raffle tickets! Raffle tickets! Final chance to visit Pokemon Island!", a
man was drawing quite a crowd for a raffle of the last remaining Pokemon
island pass.
"Well this is my lucky day..", Oz quickly shoved through the crowd. "I'd
like to buy a ticket!"
"Sure thing!", the man replied, "take your pick!", he displayed five
remaining raffle tickets.
"Which one..", Oz thought.
Suddenly, he felt another stab of pain in his head, and when it faded he
knew exactly which ticket to pick. Reaching over, he grabbed the one on the
far left.
The man nodded and took 100 yen from Oz. "Thank you sir, and good luck."
For some reason Oz knew he would win.
"Ok! Folks, this is the moment you've all been waiting for!", the man
stepped back as the last of the tickets were sold. "The winning number for
this one-of-a-kind pass is..", a ridiculously long drum-roll followed,
"104!"
Oz glanced down at his ticket. There, in small black lettering were the
numbers 104. "I.. won..?"
TBC... take it away Oz!.. or RK, if you want to explain what happens with
Alice, Alysia, Jeff and Giovanni ^_^
