Folks, this is the moment you've all been waiting for!", the man >stepped back as the last of the tickets were sold. "The winning number for >this one-of-a-kind pass is..", a ridiculously long drum-roll followed, >"104!" > >Oz glanced down at his ticket. There, in small black lettering were the >numbers 104. "I.. won..?" Shortly after collecting his ticket, Oz wandered slowly down a street with Charmy and Sandshrew, wondering what to do. It was hard to think of anything really to do, Tanos seemed to be pretty powerful. "Char charmander?" Charmy asked, worried about Jeff. "Yeah, I know," Oz sighed, "I really want to help, but there's the thing about Tanos. His intents obviously aren't too good, and smuggling him onto an island filled with rare Pokémon is not something I'd like to do." "Char..." Charmander said, extremely depressed. Oz sighed. He would hate to let the cute little Charmander down. He hadn't felt something new from Tanos in a while, even though the pain still remained in the back of his mind as a reminder. With another sigh, he stopped walking and yelled at the thin air, "Tanos, I need to talk to you! Where are you?" Not many people were on the street, but the few that were simply decided to ignore Oz. # Not here. Go to the rooftop, # Oz herd Tanos say, even as he reeled from another psychic hit. After shaking is head slightly, as if that was going to help the pain, he noticed the only building that was near his position on the sidewalk and walked towards it, not wishing to feel anymore pain. "Sandshrew, you and Charmy stay here," Oz said, "I wouldn't want any of you hurt in any way." "Charmander?" "Of course I plan to return, you two might just get in the way." "Shrew?" Oz bit his lip, "I doubt that would happen. But if I don't come back, make sure to find Jeff." With that, he patted Charmy on the head and smiled to try and reassure him that everything was all right. He turned around and walked into the building, leaving them outside on the street. ------ # You took too long. # Tanos said, coldly. Oz lay on the rooftop's gravel at the mime's feet, panting. "Well,..." he wheezed, "the fact that you..." he coughed, "that you blasted me with the psychic crap every step off the way didn't help..." # I have precious time, child. Why do you wish to speak too me? # "Well, I need to know a few things," Oz said. The world seemed to swim around him, and he was struggling to keep it still. # I will not answer any of your questions. # "Well, hold on, hold on, do you think you could lay off of the psychic stuff for a while? I'm not much good without a brain...." Tanos shrugged, an odd human gesture on such a horrible little monster. The telekinetic grip on the trainer was weakened drastically, but a few remnants remained. The world around Oz started slowing down, centering itself. He groaned loudly, rolled over, and vomited. # Speak. # "Ugh..." Oz rolled back away from his spewed up meal, and back to his previous position, "Why do you insist on treating me this way? As I understand it, you need me, to get you on this little island of yours." Tanos said nothing, simply sending another shockwave ripping through Oz's mind. Oz reeled, almost rolling directly into his vomit. "All right," Oz panted, "maybe a less offending question might be in order." #I will inform you on what you need to know. No more. # "Well, how do you intend for me to smuggle you into this island?" Oz asked, simultaneously bracing himself. Tanos brought out an object, dropping it onto Oz's stomach. Has Oz stared at it, his vision was blurry from the psychic waves, but he could make it out as being a camera. Picking it up, it felt like a normal camera, and weighted about the same weight. #The device is weighed to weigh like any other camera, and Pokéballs inside of it will go undetected. # "You're actually going to get into a Pokéball, and really expect me too just carry you in?" Oz asked as he picked himself up, looking around the roof, spotting something that looked useful. Another wave came, smaller this time, reminding Oz of the Mr. Mime's telekinetic abilities. "Well, then, why don't you just use your sci-fi blast thing and get there by yourself?" Oz regained himself, standing up to his full height, tightening his grip on the camera. The Mr. Mime did not answer. A smile slowly crossed Oz's face as he assumed... "You've got limits," he jeered, really hoping he wasn't a mistake, "You may act all powerful, but really you can't do anything powerful at all!" Tanos was enraged. #Fool! I don't need you! I can always find some other trainer. Now your death is inevitable! # he yelled. Oz turned and ran, but not soon enough. The intense waves hit him and he tumbled down onto the hard gravel. #See now? # Tanos laughed and kicked Oz in the side of the head. Oz merely groaned pathetically. There's no point in trying to evade Tanos. In short time, I'll manage to rule this world, and all of you pawns will be forced to obey me! # he continued on his ego trip, as he kick Oz in the gut several times. Gritting his teeth, Oz forced all of his strength into standing up. It seemed like a hopeless task, but slowly, Oz managed to get up to his feet, however unstable. Tanos was merely amused at this petty attempt, and he laughed at him. Wordlessly, Oz turned around, and ran as fast as he could, pouring as much of his strength into it as he could. Tanos became alarmed, and fired off a strong psychic shockwave towards the boy. Oz tried to jump over the rooftop ledge, but the psywave knocked out his feet from under him, causing him to flop over the edge. Tanos merely laughed, getting louder and louder until he laughed maniacally. He didn't care. The whole world would know his wrath. He reveled in contentment as he leisurely made his way to the edge of the rooftop. # One trainer down already, # he thought, # Only the world stands in my way. # #I will kill you! # Tanos yelled as he jumped up onto the ledge, announcing to everybody in the world in general, ego trip obviously underway. #Hear me?? # Tanos yelled some more, #Just like the fool down ther-HEY!# ----- Oz limped down the fire escape as fast as he could. Looking up, he spotted an enraged Tanos charging himself up for a massive psychic attack. He tumbled down one more section of ladder before a deafening racket made him look up. A large wave was visibly heading downwards towards Oz, and it was crushing the fire escape as it went along like a tin can. With a quick glance downwards, Oz realized ha was only a couple of stories above ground. With a target in mind, he used his one good arm, he swung himself over the railing and leapt away from the fire escape, just as the section he had been on mere moments ago was mashed behind him and swept up along with the rest of the unfortunate fire escape. Oz landed with a soft, THUD inside a nearby dumpster full of garbage. With a final deafening crash the fire escape behind him crashed to the ground and imbedded itself several feet into the ground. He barely had time to register where he was, before he scooped up the hollow camera, and leapt out, tearing out of the alley. A frustrated Tanos was left cursing the roof as Oz quickly disappeared. ----- Hobbling as fast as he could down the street, he quickly spotted a familiar pair of nervous Pokémon. He swept up Charmy, and kept running as Sandshrew trailed closely behind. "I seem to be having tremendous difficulty with my life-style," Oz muttered to himself as he ran down the street towards the airport. TBC? ~~~~~ Psy-yi-eyie.....
