He won against six out of the ten people who challenged him. When Derrick was nearly there, he met up with his final challenge on Route 7. "Hi, I'm Raven," he said kindly. This was the first trainer he met in a while who didn't act like a complete snob who was positive he would win. So, for the first time, Derrick challenged him instead. "Since you have bugs, I choose Scyther!" Raven threw out the pokeball containing Scyther. Derrick wasn't surprised. Scyther is the favorite bug pokemon and Derrick wanted it. Derrick looked at Beedril and it knew automatically that it was to battle. "Scyther, use Double Team!" Beedril looked confused as Scyther speed around quickly making it look like there was more than one. "Fury Attack all of them," Derrick said. "Slash it!" In not much time, Beedril fell to the ground with cuts all over its body. Derrick returned Beedril into its poke-ball. "By the way," he said, "I'd like to have your Scyther."
