"What now?" "We're going to get our second badges. Well, at least I am." With that, the two trainers casually walked out the door, seeking their next challenge. >> Within minutes, they found themselves in front of the "Electric Gym". It was not as imagined. In fact, it was rather run-down. A few people stirred around, but Gohan paid no attention. He walked in leaving Fox behind, ready to battle. Inside, he found his challenge. And boy, did it look like a challenge. The famous Lt. Surge towered over the teenage Gohan. He gulped, and walked forward. "I'm here to earn my Thunderbadge!" Surge looked down. "Anotha challenge ta fight, eh?" "That's me." "Well get ready, baby, cause Surge's gonna teach ya a lesson!" "We'll see," Gohan cleverly replied. A voice sounded through the intercom. "This will be a one on one Pokémon battle! Lt. Surge chooses Raichu, and the challenger chooses Ivysaur!" The two trainers stood at opposite ends of the gym floor. "BEGIN!" "Go, Bulba!" "Sauur! Ivy-ivy saurrr!" "Raichu, take care a' dis bum!" "Raaaiii...chuuu!" Immediately, the Raichu began to charge up electricity. "Raichu! Use ya Thunderbolt!" Ivysaur's eyes darted towards Gohan. Gohan nodded. "Sauurrr!" With that, vines shot out from his back, and went towards the Raichu's legs. "Raichu, c'mon!" Raichu shot bolts at the vines, trying to electrocute Ivysaur through his vines. Each time, the vines swiftly dodged, and found it's mark. They snapped at his legs, sending the rodent down. Gohan got ready. "Ivysaur, RAZOR LEAF!" Ivysaur began to let loose leaves from his back, and they grew in number and speed, twisting like a whirlwind. "Thunder, RAICHU!" A bolt of lightning stirred over head, about to hit Ivysaur. At the same time, both attacks hit. The leaves struck Raichu, and the lightning had hit Ivysaur straight on. Clouds of dust rose up, as you could hear both Pokémon exclaim. "IIIVY!" "RAAAAII!" The dust settled, leaving one silhoutte. The shape of Ivysaur. His opponent lay on the ground, eyes swirling. Ivysaur resilently remained standing, and smoking from the bolt, no less. "Yeah! All right, Ivysaur!" Gohan ran over and held him. "Well, I guess ya earned dis, kid." Surge weakly smiled, and handed him a Thunderbadge and shook his hand. "Woohoo! All right!" He pinned the badge to his belt, and admired it. Happily, he walked towards Fox, awaiting him outside. "It's your turn, pal." TBC!
