From: MTSowbug <mtsowbug@aol.com> Subject: [PW!] Saffron City: the source of energy Date: Saturday, April 24, 1999 6:30 PM Recently Phoo has trained his Farfetch'd and Porygon, and now he is heading towards the east, where he believes Icy may be. (note: can Icy stay in Saffron until Phoo gets there? Please...) Phoo continued walking in the fields. There were still very few trainers about. "Hmm... this is a peaceful walk. I wonder where this leads to... I haven't been down in the world for a long time," Phoo thought, to himself. Just then, Phoo felt a strong jolt of energy come to his mind. He was very startled at this. "What? Hmm... that felt... hmm... that felt like unearthly energy. It seemed to originate from some other plane... hmm... I also seem to be feeling a strong presence of power in the vicinity..." Phoo thought, as he cautiously continued onwards. *** About an hour later *** Phoo was starting to adjsut to the strong power that he was getting ever closer to. With Phoo's ability to channel the strange energy, he felt stronger himself. As Phoo continued onwards, he started to notice what appeared to be a cityscape a few miles ahead of him. Phoo did not recognize it, but he continued onwards, hoping that Icy had gone this way. Eventually, Phoo had reached a small building that was on the edge of what appeared to be a very large city. There was a sign on the side of the building, and it read, "Saffron City Guard Station. We are very thirsty." This sign triggered a memory to Phoo. He thought, "Ah... hmm... yes, Saffron City..." *** Flashback *** (Phoo is sitting atop a table, reading a large book. Aurelia, Lickitung, and Krabby are playing in a corner. They are all in a wooden cabin, that seems to have a heating system. All the furnishings are wooden.) "Hmm... it says that the main link to the outside world is via a place they call Saffron City... it is the point that great energies traverse from this plane to Earth," Phoo said aloud, to no one in particular. "The energy that flows in Saffron apparently has affected the humans there, and given them extrasensory powers, also known as psychic. The energy has also made Saffronians highly intelligent, allowing them to create one of the largest companies on Earth: Silph Co." "Due to the energy overflow from Saffron, its neighboring cities have also been somewhat affected. Celadon, Cerulean, and Fuschia Cities have grown into flourishing cities from this energy. Lavender Town has been inversely affected, channeling energy from the dead. Psychics there are known as Channelers." Phoo had been studying for quite a long time, preparing to travel down to the lower plane. His training had been very difficult, and would be out of reach for something lesser than him. Phoo crawled over to the edge of the page, and pushed it over to reveal yet another flap of the text. He continued to read. "However no humans have ever been able to grasp what power lies in Saffron. It is possible for something of a higher level to obtain much energy and knowledge, there, thought." "There is one point in the reigon of Saffron where one can channel their strength. It is called Spectrum Way, and it is a rainbow trail that starts high above Saffron's heights. In order to walk this path, it is necessary to divert all of one's concentration and power to the task at hand, or else he be destroyed. If one can ascend Spectrum Road to the top, great things will come of ye." *** End flashback *** Phoo encased this memory into his thoughts, and comprehended it. "So Saffron City... this is the place, all right," he thought, as he scampered through some bushes to get into the city. After Phoo passed through the bushes, he looked out into the sprawling cityscape of Saffron. There were many people running about on their daily errands, which daunted Phoo. There were also many buidings, and Phoo could not be sure of where Icy was. "Hmm... this is not an easy place to get through... and if it is true their are psychics here... hmm... I stand a very great risk of being caught in Saffron. Well, I can always try to.. hmm... a mental imagery..." Phoo thought. Gradually, Phoo started to whine and glow with a gentle, blue aura. "Hmm... if I know him well enough, his mind and mine..." Suddenly, a burst of realization came to Phoo. "That way," he thought, as his aura died down, and he crawled to the northeast, hiding in the shadows, so not to be seen. Notes on this post: 1.
