From: MTSowbug <mtsowbug@aol.com> Subject: [PW!] The east beyond Celadon Date: Thursday, April 22, 1999 7:24 AM Recently Phoo departed Celadon, and headed east. Larry is following far behind. (of course, Phoo is chasing Icy, and Larry is chasing Phoo) Phoo crawled along on the ground, across the lonely plains and fields that streched outside of Celadon. The grass streched two feet into the air, and birds were singing in the sparse trees. Very few, if any, trainers were about, and Phoo could travel at will. A small multitude of insects and pokemon were about, lounging around. Phoo was thinking. "Hmm... well, I believe I need a mental recap, here. Let us see... I need to find Icy again... no word of Mewtwo anywhere... and that Doppler fellow. Hmm... this world seems full of evil forces... if only I was enough to stop them... but one at a time, Phoo... one at a time." After several hours of walking in the high grass, Phoo became lonely. Due to his loneliness, Phoo decided to send out his pokemon. He needed to check on them, anyway, since he had to study his newly obtained Porygon and Farfetch'd. Phoo spoke, out loud, "Alright, Aurelia, Lickitung, Kra... hmm... Farfetch'd, Porygon... come out now! You are wanted," at that the four pokemon popped out, four abreast. Phoo examined the Farfetch'd. "Hmm... this is peculiar. Why... a stick does he hold? This is... different," Phoo thought. Phoo turned towards Porygon. "Now... ah, yes. Hmm... the Porygon... without much free will. I must build his experiences, his knowledge, emotions." Just then, another thought rushed to Phoo. "Hmm! I probably can't obtain even a psychic link to the Farfetch'd... and they definitely need to learn techniques. I guess... hmm... we'll have to go train... just like before... like in the old days with Krab..." Phoo cut himself off. Phoo thought for a moment more, and then decided that it was definitely needed for the five of them to train. They'd need a good place for it, though. Phoo started searching for a suitable place... *** Same time, almost same place. The perspective of Aurelia (pokespeech pretranslated) *** Aurelia was very surprised, and gleeful about the prospect of meeting with Farfetch'd and Porygon. "Yay! This will be such a great opportunity, we'll be such good friends! Ooh, what do you think, Lickitung?" Aurelia asked. Lickitung responded, "Eh? Ah, yes. Umm... err... yeah, that's right. Now what were we talking about again?" Lickitung was, as always, absent-minded, but it never got to Aurelia. Aurelia didn't really take notice of Lickitung, as she was enraptured in her own joy. She hopped around gleefully, and followed Phoo to wherever they would go. Lickitung had completely lost interest, and was innocently chasing a butterfly. *** Back to Phoo, several moments later *** Phoo had finally found a suitable spot. In the middle of the field, there was a large rectangle of bushes, that was about 150 yards long, and 100 yards wide. Phoo had crept between the trees, and found a wonderfully secluded area of the field, perfect to train his pokemon, out of the eyesight of any passing trainers. Phoo called out, once he had entered the area, "Okay, everyone! Come on, now! Lickitung... please pay attention." Aurelia came first, bounding along, then Farfetch'd (humming a marching tune), Porygon, and trailing behind, Lickitung, mind meandering. The four pokemon arranged themselves in an orderly fashion before Phoo. Phoo spoke aloud, so that Farfetch'd and Porygon could understand him. "Alright. Aurelia, Lickitung, you can do as you please. We are here to help Farfetch'd and Porygon." Lickitung meandered off, but Aurelia stayed to watch. Phoo continued, "First of all, I will teach you two the wonder of psychic communication. First of all..." *** Scene switch. To Lickitung *** Lickitung was usually lighthearted and easygoing, but above all, he had a short attention span. When he heard Phoo starting to talk, his mind started to wander, and he meandered off into the field. Lickitung found a Caterpie there, and began to chase it playfully. Lickitung and the Caterpie bounded through the field. *** Scene switch. To Phoo *** Phoo was getting a little annoyed. Farfetch'd was clinging to his leg, smiling and purring. "Hmm... this is unusual. I would expect this if I took away his celery stick... withdrawl... but this? Well, there's work to be done, obviously..." Phoo thought. Aurelia looked on, smiling at the whole scene. *** Scene switch. To Lickitung *** A mere playful chase soon turned into a full-fledged romp. Caterpie and Lickitung bounded around the field, stirring up piles of leaves. Before they knew it, Lickitung, Caterpie, and a hoard of other field-dwelling pokemon soon started up on a fun-run in the field. They jogged about the perimeter of the closed-in meadow. *** Scene switch. To Phoo *** Porygon had been very easy to teach. However, it worried Phoo is he could ever get Porygon a personality, a soul, a free mind. But that wasn't prodominant on his mind at the moment. What Phoo was worrying about was Farfetch'd... who was still clinging to Phoo's leg, attempting to seduce it. *** Scene switch. To Larry *** Wigglytuff was still riding atop Larry, whipping him the whole way. Larry screeched, "NO!!! THIS IS an EXCELLENT idea. WIGGLYTUFF??? WHIP me to GAIN SPEED!!! YEAH!!! Whip me, whip me." Larry screamed a battle cry, and spewed forth black acid from various pores on his body. Wigglytuff stared in sheer amazement, wondering why The Media assigned her as Larry's pokemon. *** Scene switch. To Phoo *** Phoo had gained some ground with Farfetch'd. He had made him able to execute several various techniques with his celery stick. Farfetch'd had gone off into the field to try out his new abilities. Porygon had wandered off, enveloping his senses in something completely new to him: nature. Aurelia was still standing next to Phoo, smiling brightly. Phoo started towards the center of the field so that he could gather everyone back together. After a few moments, Phoo reached the center of the field. Lickitung was just ending his fun run with the other field pokemon. Phoo turned to look at Farfetch'd. *** Scene switch. To Farfetch'd (pokespeech pretranslated) *** Farfetch'd had trotted over to what appeared to be a small boulder. He unsheathed his celery stick from under his wing, and held it high in the air. "Okie dokie. Dwa. Cockroach is a sayin' to pull a the sticka for the 'energy' to reach it, and den to pull it a back towards a 'your mind.' I don't think I a get it, unaless..." Farfetch'd thought, as a new idea came to his head. With a blink of realization, Farfetch'd discovered what Phoo was trying to tell him, to tap the energy out of his mind. Suddenly, his celery stick lit up with a strange, yellow, undulating aura. The stick came down on the boulder, and there was a shattering explosion. Farfetch'd blinked again, and stared at the obliviated boulder, and his now broken celery stick. "Ooo... that is a good a. But a now a me needs to a go to get meself a new sticka." Farfetch'd plopped off to find a new weapon. *** Scene switch. To Porygon. *** Porygon was enveloping himself in the new feeling and sensations of "nature." It was all new to him, and very... thought provoking. Porygon looked all over the area. "Tree. Sturdy structure. Outer shell bark. Leaves. Numerous." Porygon thought, woodenly. But Porygon was trying to get out of his prison of uniform, mechanical thought as hard as he could. *** Scene switch. To Phoo. *** Phoo had judged everyone's progress, and was very pleased. Lickitung was coming back, tired out, and so was Porygon. After a few moments, Farfetch'd started hopping back towards Phoo, with the fresh shoot of a tree under his wing. Eventually, everyone had gotten back to Phoo. Phoo cleared his throat, and commenced speaking. He congratulated them on their efforts, and expressed his gratitude. After the four pokemon nodded their heads in approval of the speech, Phoo nodded in return, and returned them to their pokeballs. He then started walking off, away from the field, and continuing eastward. *** Scene switch. To Larry. *** Larry was sprinting along on all fours, just like before, with Wigglytuff on his back. He was insane, as usual. In an ear-piercing shriek to end all others, he announced, "VWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HEEEEEEEEEEE HEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! Ahem," and disappeared off into the distance. "They taste salty." - Cassidy Wright No, my name isn't Cassidy. Hey, my character Phoo is the unofficial arch-rival of Random in the PokeWars!
