Date: Sunday, April 18, 1999 11:46 PM Sitting overlooking a magnificent lake, Maria rolled an unexpanded Pokeball between her fingers. She had come out on business, but after taking in the cool breeze of wide waters and the gentle sounds of leaves rustlings in the wind, she couldn't help but to take a little break. It was one of those pretty spring afternoons that she loved. With a sigh, she lay back in the cool green grass and closed her eyes. With a lazy toss of her wrist, she threw out the Pokeball. With a crackle of red energy, James plopped out and landed near the water. "Psy?" He looked back to see where Maria was. When she didn't give any order, he looked back to the mirrored surface of the lake. "Psyduck?" There were a few pearly-scaled Magikarp swimming around, but not much else at that shallow depth. Timidly, James waddled in. Soon he was splashing around, getting himself as wet as possible. "MEooowwwwTH..." Slasher sat above, looking at the sparkling spray James was creating. He swished his tail back in forth in disapproval. Just then, he noticed a flash of white nearby. "Meowth?" He turned his head slowly. There in the bushes. Something was watching them. Slasher could see.....sapphire eyes. The Meowth's large almond eyes slitted. With a growl in his throat, he rose to his feet. But then the entire bush appeared to explode for a moment, and something resembling a tiny comet shot away across the great lake. "MEEEWWWW!!!!" "MEOWTH!" Slasher turned to Maria excitedly. But by this time she had fallen asleep on the grass. Slasher's whiskers drooped and he growled again. He looked up at the lake again, to find that the Mew had disappeared. He shook his head and stalked off to sit in a tree by himself until Maria awoke. Feeling that the predatory Pokemon had retreated, the blue Ditto in Maria's coat emerged. It looked around curiously. It's tiny eyes drifted towards the sky which was as blue as it was, except for a few fluffy white clouds floating around. "Ditto...." It looked back at Maria, then crawled out. "Psyduck! Psyduck!" James had nearly submerged himself in the lake by now. "Dit?" Surprised, James looked up to see the Ditto looking down at him. "Psy?" "Ditto." It made itself smaller, but continued to watch him. "Psyduck? Duck?" Emerging from the water, James waddled over to greet it. "Dit Ditto..." "Psy..." James gave him a confused look. "Psyduck duck?" "Dit...to..." The blue Ditto looked at James and began to shimmer. Its form began to glow and flow.....and then when it faded.....nothing. It blinked and looked down in confusion. "Ditto?" James shook his head sadly. "Psyduck Psy...." He gave the blue Ditto a sympathetic pat and led it back to Maria's side where they waited for her to awaken. Somewhere further down the shores of the lake, the Pokemon could barely hear a strange cry echoing across the waters. "Meewww......"
