It was Dan's Porygon, in plane form. He looked down at the city below. It was a refreshing change from Celadon City, where he had spent the past week because of the auction. Dan saw a good place to land, and Porygon started to fly lower. The Pory-plane landed right outside the Pewter City Gym. Brock was walking up to the gym doors as Dan climbed out of the plane. "Hey," Brock said, running up to Dan and the plane. "Where'd you get the plane?" "It's a Porygon," Dan replied. "Porygon, convert to normal form." "I've heard of those," said Brock. "Isn't that the computerized Pokémon that can be programmed to take different shapes?" "That's the one," Dan answered. "So, where have you been lately?" Brock asked. "I've been at that big Pokémon auction in Celadon," Dan told him. "Oh," Brock said. "If I hadn't been so busy around here, I probably would have gone. Did you win any new Pokémon?" "Yes," Dan said. "I got 2 Eevees, a Charmander, and a Squirtle." "That's great," Brock said. "Want to have a Pokémon match while you're here?" Brock asked. "Can't," Dan said. "I'm off to Mt. Moon to search for a Clefairy." "Ah," Brock said. "That reminds me of an adventure I had a few years ago..." Dan went to the edge of the city and found the Mt. Moon trail. He started up the trail and saw the huge mountain looming ahead of him. --- At the end of the long trail, Dan stood in front of the cave entrance. "All right Clefairy, here I come!" Dan said, and entered the cave. Dan walked through the cave, hand at his Poké-belt, ready to grab a Pokéball for battle. The light in the cave was dim, so Charmander walked beside Dan, his tail flame lighting up the tunnel. The Clefairy were scarce, even here. After a long walk and a long search, Dan couldn't find a single Clefairy. He was almost at the end of the cave when he saw out of the corner of his eye...a Clefairy! Dan got ready to send out a Pokémon when he saw the Clefairy dragged of by a net. "Darn," Dan said. "...WAIT A MINUTE!" He returned Charmander to his Pokéball and ran to the area where the Clefairy was standing. "What? You!" someone said when they saw Dan. "Team Rocket again," Dan said. "What are you doing here?" "What does it look like?" one of the Rockets said. "We're taking all of these Clefairy to the boss." "He'll be sure to give us a promotion when he sees all these rare Pokémon," another said, pointing to a cage full of Clefairy. "You're not going to get away with this!" Dan said. "Let's battle." --- "I'm going first," a Rocket said. "Go, Grimer!" "Go, Porygon!" Dan said. "Porygon, Tackle!" The Grimer was knocked back with the force of the attack. "Come back with a Pound!" the Rocket shouted. Grimer pounded Porygon, weakening him a bit. "Porygon, knock him out with a Psybeam!" The Grimer was quickly overwhelmed by the powerful psychic energy. "Aahh!" the Rocket said, and let the next take on Dan. "Go, Exeggcute!" "Go, Vaporeon!" "Ha, ha, ha! What kind of trainer sends a water Pokémon out against a grass type? Barrage now!" the Rocket said. Exeggcute shot small eggs at Vaporeon. "Heh, heh. It's not as easy as you might think," Dan said. "Vaporeon, Ice Beam now!" Vaporeon shot an energy beam at Exeggcute, freezing it. "Let me take this kid!" another said. "Go, Staryu!" "Eevee, go!" "Ah-hahhahaha! An Eevee! Hahaha! Staryu, tackle it!" Eevee fell to the ground. "No! Eevee, Sand-Attack!" Eevee filled the air with sand. "Now Quick Attack!" "Staryu, water gun!" Eevee knocked out the Staryu before it could use its Water Gun. "Let's get out of here!" a Rocket yelled, running down the tunnel. "What about the Clefairy?" another said, following him. "Forget about them!" All of the Rockets fled. Dan opened up the cage of Clefairy and let them all out. The Clefairy ran down the tunnel the opposite way. Dan left the cave thinking, "I didn't get my Clefairy. But at least I stopped Team Rocket from getting theirs." He saw a sign with an arrow pointing down the road. It said, "Cerulean City." "Cerulean City? Hmm, I have another old friend there that I could visit," Dan thought. He ran down the road to Cerulean City. Gotta catch 'em all! "I'm James, from Team Rocket.......whee!"
