((okay so this strays a little bit from the auction as it progresses....but
since I'm leaving for San Diego for the rest of the week for a choir
competition and I'm going to miss the rest of the auction, I thought maybe I
could leave everyone with a slightly cute story))

"I need six pokeballs." Aislynn told the man
behind the desk, still holding the Weepinbell in her arms.
"Sure thing!" he told her, reaching under the
counter and producing six unexpanded pokeballs. "They're half price since so
many people are buying them for the pokemon they won at the auction." he
informed her. "So that comes to a total of six hundred." Aislynn nodded and
with Knave's help, paid the man and drew the Weepinbell into a pokeball.
As they left the pokemart, Knave tapped Aislynn
irately on the shoulder.
"What?" she asked.
"Home!" he snapped.
"Okay! This time, I promise we're going!" she
told the impatient pokemon. Knave smiled in response.
"House at end of this street and to left...so go
three steps forward and then turn right." he instructed. "Bring more food this
time!" he added.
"Okay, I'll make some sandwiches." she told him.
"No crusts!" he told her.
"Right. No crusts." she grumbled, not believing
what a finicky eater Knave was for a creature that shoved anything into its
mouth that didn't get out of the way fast enough.

"Sprout! Bellsprout!" the Bellsprout chimed,
squirming a little in James' hands.
"Will you stop fidgeting??" he grumbled. The
pokemon looked at him with expressionless eyes.
"Sprout?"
"Its bad enough I can't keep a bid on any of the
pokemon here, but now I have to babysit a weed too!" he whined.
"Bellll..." the plant growled but quickly
dropped its threatening demeanor when it noticed James was paying it no mind.
"Sir?" someone asked from behind a counter
nearby. James turned in the direction of the voice to see a plump black-haired
woman behind an auction counter.
"Are you addressing me?" he asked, approaching.
"How'd you like an Eevee?" she asked, smiling
pleasantly at him. James did his best to hide his shock.
"An Eevee?" he asked.
"That's right." the woman nodded. "I'll give him
to you for ten thousand." she said sweetly.
"That's a little steep..." James told her, a
gleam in his eye as he tried to bargain.
"All right, eight thousand." she sighed. "But
I'M losin' on this."
"Deal." he agreed hurriedly, slapping the money
onto the table. She grinned broadly, showing off some slightly crooked teeth as
she reached under the counter and brought out a pokeball.
"There you go." she told him. "You take good
care of him now."
"Well, guess this trip wasn't a waste after
all." he smirked, picking up the pokeball. "Eevee, come out!" he ordered.
There was a flash of light as an Eevee with a horrendously swollen belly
appeared, lying on its side groaning. "This---this pokemon is useless!" he
cried. "Look at it! It's overweight and sick!"
"No refunds." the woman shrugged. "All I told
you was it was an Eevee. I never said what condition it was in." James
visibly trembled with rage a moment before recalling the pathetic pokemon and
shoving the ball deep into his pocket.
"Yet another reminder not to invest on things
sight unseen." he grumbled to himself, recalling his past mistake with a
Magicarp. He decided he wouldn't show the Eevee to Jessie. It would just give
her something else to chide him for.
"Sprout?" the Bellsprout inquired, looking at
James' enraged features.
"Nevermind." he told the pokemon sternly.
"Where's your owner? How long does it take to buy pokeballs anyway??"
"Bellsprout..." the plant responded, giving a
slight shrug.
"Shouldn't expect you to know, I guess." he
sighed. "Let's go find her. I'm sick of carrying you."

Knave settled back against the cushions of the
living room couch as Aislynn gave her mother a hug.
"I'm so glad you're okay." Sharon smiled,
releasing her daughter. "I hadn't heard from you in so long and I was worried
maybe you---well, nevermind."
"I'm fine mom." Aislynn assured her. "Knave
wanted to rest so we decided to visit for a little bit."
"And you two came all the way back here for the
auction?" she asked.
"Well, not ALL the way back. We were flown part
of the way when Knave got hurt by an Ekans and then we just walked here."
Aislynn explained.
"Do you have any new pokemon?" Sharon asked.
"Mm hmm!" Aislynn nodded. "I caught a Spearow, I
won a Bellsprout at the auction and James gave me a metapod...oh gosh!" she
gasped.
"Something wrong?" Sharon asked, looking at her
daughter worriedly.
"I left James back at the auction with my
Bellsprout!" she groaned. "He's gonna kill me..."
"No look at me!" Knave called immediately. "I
taking break!" Sharon glared at the pokemon.
"Thank you Knave. You're such a help." she said
sarcastically. The Clefairy grunted and turned onto his side. "Well, if he
won't take you, hon, then I will."
"Okay." Aislynn said, breathing a sigh of
relief. "I hope he's still at the auction. Otherwise---" she was interrupted by
a knock at the door.
"That had better not be another insurance
salesman." Sharon grumbled, striding toward the door.
"Who is it?" she called through the wood.
"Who do you think it is??" a familiar youthful
and slightly whiney voice replied.
"Come on in, James." she smiled, moving aside
as he pushed the door open, still clutching Aislynn's bellsprout.
"Forget something?" he asked the girl, holding
out the Bellsprout.
"Sprout!" it exclaimed, recognizing Aislynn.
"Thanks James." she smiled. "I'm sorry I forgot
about you back there." she stated apologetically as she took the Bellsprout
from him and set it on the end of the couch Knave was napping on.
"Ah forget it." he sighed. "I needed to get
away from that cess pool anyway."
"What's wrong James? Bad auction luck?" Sharon
inquired.
"You might say that." he grumbled, pulling the
Eevee's pokeball out of his pocket and tossing it onto the kitchen table. "Look
at this thing. I paid eight thousand for this Eevee and its a mess!" he
complained, watching as Sharon called the pokemon out of the ball and examined
it. "I have no idea what possessed me to buy him." he added.
"Her, James." Sharon corrected.
"What does it matter? Its fat and sick and---"
"Giving birth!" Sharon interrupted, making
James' face go ash pale.
"What??" he squeaked, running over to look at
the Eevee lying on the table.
"Where, mom?" Aislynn asked, trying to push in
between her mother and James to be a part of what was going on.
"Eevee...." the soon-to-be mother pokemon
grunted, straining.
"James, get me a towel!" Sharon ordered, never
taking her eyes from the Eevee.
"But--" he began.
"GO!" she ordered, startling him into action as
he scuttled off toward the bathroom in search of towels. There was a
high-pitched squeal from the table as the first of the Eevee's children nudged
its way into Sharon's hands. "Here, take this." she told Aislynn gently,
handing her the infant pokemon. She recoiled a bit from the feeling of its
moist and slick feeling of its fur, but obediently held the baby Eevee in her
cupped palms.
"Eeee...." the baby cooed, curling into a tight
ball in her hands.
"I could only find one...it was up in the---"
James stopped short, seeing the small brown creature in Aislynn's hands as she
ran her fingers curiously over its fur. He almost dropped the yellow towel he
had been carrying.
"James, come here." Sharon said gently. James
moved forward and jolted a little as two more baby Eevees were placed in the
towel.
"Eevee..." the mother Eevee sighed, obviously
pleased with herself as she collapsed into a well-deserved slumber.
"Three babies, James." Sharon smiled. "Still
think your Eevee is a fat, sick good-for-nothing?" she asked. James looked at
the two baby Eevees curled up side by side in the towel he held and slowly
shook his head.
"No." he replied quietly, smiling. Sharon gently
took the baby Eevee from Aislynn and laid it in the towel with its siblings.
"Looks like we both got a good deal today."
Aislynn smirked, listening to the muted squeaks of the baby pokemon. James'
expression fell a bit.
"I don't think I can keep all four of them." he
said. "I mean, Weezing is enough of a problem as far as care goes."
"Yeah but if there's three babies, and then
three evolutions..." Aislynn said thoughtfully. "You could have a Jolteon,
Vaporeon, AND Flareon!" she stated excitedly.
"Aislynn honey, let's worry about that later,
okay?" her mother whispered, taking the towel from the blue-haired boy and
laying it beside the sleeping Eevee on the table so that she could tend to her
children when she got up.
"Hrrmm?" Knave grunted, sitting up on the couch.
"I miss something?" he asked, rubbing his eyes.
"Long story, Knave. Don't worry about it."
Aislynn smiled. The clefairy nodded and went back to sleep.
