Date: Sunday, April 11, 1999 10:43 PM After a long hike through the forest, Maria still had not seen a single Pokemon. Grumbling, she pulled out her map once again. "According to this we're near the center of the island." "About time," Sneakers wheezed behind her. He sunk down into the grass. "Could we stop now? My paws are gonna give out anytime...." "Fine," Maria looked around her. "I wonder where the other Rockets are." Slasher jumped off Maria's shoulder and landed in the grass. Following a slinky stretch, he stalked off into the shade. (Brought to you by the letter 'S'! =D ) Maria pulled out a Pokeball and followed him. Left behind, Sneakers sat and groomed himself. It was actually pretty peaceful out in the woods, the sunlight filtering in through the leaves in the treetops high above. The speckled patterns of light on the ground were nearly hypnotic..... "JIGGGGLLLLLYY!!!" "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" "MEOWTH!" The sudden racket startled Sneakers. He bounded over to see what was going on. "I just never learn," He growled. When he broke through the grass on the other side of the trees, he found Maria and Slasher facing the most unusual Jigglypuff he had ever seen. It wasn't pink. It was green with a white belly. The strange Jigglypuff glared up at the intruders. "Jiggly Jiggly!" It tried threatening them by puffing up. Maria, clearly terrified, froze to the spot. Slasher hissed at it. "Slasher, watch it!" Slasher poked at it anyway with one paw. "Meowth..." "Jiggly!!!" It glared at the feline. Sneakers walked over. "Whoa, now that's a weird lookin' Pokemon." "PUFF!" The Jigglypuff jumped over and slapped Sneakers in the face. "Hey!" Maria finally snapped out of it. "Well......might as well. Slasher!" "Meowth!" Slasher growled at the Jigglypuff. "Bite attack!" "MEOWTTH!" Slasher leaped forward and bit the green Jigglypuff in the arm. "JIGGGLYY!!" The Jigglypuff cried in pain. Maria drew out a Pokeball. "Slash!" Slasher slapped his claws across the Jigglypuff's face. "PUFF!" Jigglypuff squealed. "Now!" Maria bit her lip and drew the Pokeball back to throw it. At that moment she made eye contact with the vile little creature. It's huge blue watery-eyes stared up at her in terrified defiance. Maria's hand clenched around the Pokeball. She had to...... The Jigglypuff, weakened and in pain, continued to puff out and wave its arms uselessly. Maria closed her eyes. She dropped her arm and put the Pokeball her in pocket. "Meow?" Slasher blinked up at her in surprise. "C'mon, let's get going." Maria drew her coat around herself and walked off. "Huh? Aren't you going to catch it?" Sneakers looked from the Jigglypuff to Maria in confusion. "What kind of Rocket are you?" Maria and Slasher had already walked off. Sneakers looked at the little green Jigglypuff, who looked just as bewildered. It puffed at Sneakers once more before scurrying off into the underbrush.
