"Hmm?" Seth stuck his hands in his pockets and checked out where Mimic was
pointing. Only a few feet away, Officer Jenny was laughing with some fellow
officers. From their uniforms Seth could tell they were still on duty, but
were enjoying themselves all the same. That Officer Jenny looked slightly
younger than the ones Seth was familiar with, but not by much. "Ah. Let's see
if I can still charm the law."
He snapped his shades back onto his face and flashed a grin at Mimic. Then he
casually strolled over to the officers' table. Mimic sweatdropped, his eyes
falling on Seth's Rocket uniform. "Mimic.....having second thoughts on this
SLAP! Everyone around the officers' table looked up to see the young man who
had put his hand down on the table. Seth had a big grin on his face. "Hello
there, how are all you fine law officers this evening?" Next thing Seth knew,
he had at least a dozen handguns clicked in his face. "Umm....that bad, eh?"
Officer Jenny frowned. "Another drunk Rocket? Or are you just getting stupider
by the day?"
Seth's eyes glanced down at himself. "Whoops....forgot myself again.." He
muttered. Then he quickly looked Jenny in the eye. "I'm not a Rocket, this
is, uh, a costume! I thought this was a costume party! Heh heh...yeah..."
Behind him, Mimic put a hand to his face and shook his head. "Sheesh."
"Do you take me for a complete imbecile!?" Officer Jenny struck out and tore
the sunglasses from his face. "And you look familiar to me, which probably
means I've seen your face on a wanted poster someplace!"
Seth cringed at the loss of his shades. "You have to believe me....I need your
help." He set his bright green eyes upon the officer and gave her his most
sincere smile. "I'm looking for someone important to me, and I'm hoping you
may have seen her."
Slight psychic influence or not, Seth's smiles had always had a power of their
own, which he'd learned to use from a very early age. Officer Jenny seemed to
be a tough one to crack, but after a moment of consideration, he cheered
inwardly as she lowered her weapon.
"Alright. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But if this is some kind of
Rocket trick, you'll end up in jail quicker than a Jolteon on hot coals." The
other officers put away their guns as Jenny led him away from the table. "So,
what kind of help do you need, mister...?"
"Just call me Seth," He said, receiving his shades back from Jenny, and
slipping them into his pocket for the time being. "I'm looking for my
girlfriend, Aerie. She's disappeared, and I'm worried about her."
Jenny nodded. "I see. Well, I suppose I could look her up for you. If there's
been any reports, I'll be able to find her for you. What does she look like?"
Seth paused in deep thought. "Hmm....she looks like a golden glow....." He
shook the first impression out of his head. "Actually, she's about so high,"
he leveled his hand against himself, "purple hair with a streak of black in it,
violet eyes...." he started to get a faraway look at this point, "..walks like
an angel, laughs like wind chimes, and she's got a touch that feels like

away." Feeling something crawling on his pantleg, he looked down to see a
Weedle inching up. Mimic made his way up until he settled attached to Seth's
Putting her notepad away, Officer Jenny chuckled. "Looks like you have a
friendly Pokemon there! Well, just stop by the Police Station tomorrow, and
maybe I'll have some news on your missing girlfriend."
"Thank you," Seth nodded, sliding on his shades once more. "Oh! Where is the
Police Station anyway? I'm not really from around here...."
"Weedle..." Mimic lifted himself up a bit and waved his little pads in
"Just two blocks up from the Pokecenter, you can't miss it," Officer Jenny
said, looking on Mimic with amusement. With that, she turned and walked back
towards the other officers.
Slasher, who had stayed at a distance while Jenny was around, came slinking up.
"Purrrsiann....." He pawed at one ear.
"Slash, someday, there might be hope for you," Seth snickered. "Officer Jenny
isn't that bad."
Mimic looked over at Seth. "What Slasher mean by Officer Jenny try fix him? How
Slasher slouched and glowered while flexing his claws. A low rumble in the
back of his throat was his only response.
"I think we'd better drop the subject before he decides to demonstrate," Seth
sweatdropped. "So, what should we do while waiting for Officer Jenny? I don't
know if the Pokecenter is still open this late." He looked to the little Weedle
on his shoulder, who was now swaying around to the lazy tropical music in the
