What would you like?" asked Oak. "Well. I' guess I'd like a Venonat!" said Laz. Oak gave him the pokeball, and some cash. "Come out Venonat!" said Laz, as he walked towards Viridian City. Laz concentrated, and a TM floated out of some grass. He activated it. "Hello. You have activated TM 15, Hyper Beam" said the TM. Laz typed in "048". "Confirmed. Searching for a Venonat. Venonat found, proceed" said the TM. A beam shot at Venonat. Tackle was erased from his mind, and Hyper Beam was added. "Well, now that you know Hyper Beam you should have an advantage over other Venonats, and pokemon" said Laz. Soon they reached Viridian, thanks to Laz's 5ft teleportation. Trainers were everywhere. "Would you like to battle, 1vs1?" asked Laz. "Sure" said the man. Either the man didn't notice that Lazarus was an Abra, or that psychic pokemon often became trainers. "Go Venonat!" said Laz. "Go Nidoking!" said the man. Laz used telepathy to tell Venonat to use Quick Attack. He began to run around the Nidoking at a fast speed, poking and biting it. "What? Tail Whip!" said the man. Venonat was smashed into the ground, and fainted. "Are you a beginner?" asked the man. "Yes" replied Laz. "Maybe I can help you catch another pokemon. A very strong pokemon. My name is Schin. I guess I'll join you on your quest for a while, and give you some pointers" said the man. "Thanks!" said Laz. \ Laz healed his Venonat, and they headed towards Pewter City.
