From: Nendil <lucyliu@flash.net> Subject: [PW!] I Don't WANNA Be Stuck In Saffron!! Date: Monday, May 17, 1999 10:49 PM Mithril-rama yawned softly, and glanced at the clock again for the third time in--three minutes?? Surely more time has passed than that. Why, the last time she had looked up was... two minutes ago. The girl sighed and rummaged through her belongings again, hoping to uncover something entertaining that she hasn't found or thought of yet. It seemed as if three o'clock would never come. "Attention all passengers. We regret to announce that the flights for the following locations has been delayed due to bad weather: Fuchsia City, Viridian City, and Neon Town. Once again, the flights heading toward Fuchsia, Viridian, and Neon are delayed for an undetermined time until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience." The announcement crackled off the loudspeakers with a gentle-toned beep, which did nothing to soothe nerves like the sound was probably originally intended to. People grumbled all over the room, irritated to say the least. Rilli groaned and laid her head against the backrest of the seat. "Undetermined" would probably be the worst word they could possibly use--she can't even leave and come back at a later time. Instead, she, as well as many other travelers, are trapped in this waiting room until "further notice", which may as well be an hour or two days. "Are you kidding?!?" Rilli turned slightly to see a man arguing at the counter with a receptionist. "Don't you have any idea how long it would take?" The pretty young woman shook her head. "I'm sorry, we don't have that information..." She looked around. "But I estimate it'll be quite a while. Weather reports say there are some nasty storms around that may last well into the evening, and I'm afraid the Pidgeots can't go out in that kind of weather, especially at night. The flights may be delayed until tomorrow, if not longer." "Tomorrow!?" Rilli and a few other passengers who had overheard all exclaimed at once. The receptionist smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry to give all of you such bad news, but you should probably go home and get some rest. Otherwise, you'll be waiting here for a long time." Well... that's just great news, Rilli huffed silently to herself as she scooped up her bag. Go home? Ha. Closest she can get's the Pokémon Center... Hmm, might as well. She had to contact Robert and let him know the bad news. After signing up for a room at the PokéCenter, Rilli sat herself down in front of a computer. Now what was his address...? Oh yeah... To: robert@lavender.twn I know I'm supposed to be at Viridian by tonight, but the flights have been delayed thanks to "bad weather". =( I'll catch the earliest flight tomorrow I can get, just wait at the Pokémon Center for me, okay? Love ya lots! - Rilli <3 She clicked the "Send" button and sighed, then shuffled off to her room. It was just the same as all other PokéCenter rooms she's stayed in, but it seemed larger without company. How's she gonna sleep tonight? Her arms would feel so empty. She scanned the bed for an extra pillow--nope, not there. "Drat..." Rilli plopped into a chair and looked around the room for something entertaining. This was no better than waiting in the Pidgeot Express waiting room. Nendil -- The Aquafraternal Fanart Corner http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Island/2733
