From: SaberTeamR <saberteamr@aol.computer> Subject: [PW!] Leaving the Lab Date: Saturday, May 22, 1999 2:59 AM Saber nearly collided with EXO and Mark as he emerged from the Staff Lounge. "Hey, nice to see you guys again," he said with a smile "thought you had run out on me." "C'mon Saber, you know us," EXO said "we wouldn't leave you. I was about 5 minutes behind you and Mark, and when I got inside, you weren't here. I met up with Mark and two Professor Oaks, one of which turned out to be a ditto named Mimic. Mark told him what happened to you and he helped us find you on the security cameras." "Yeah, well it looks like my problem solved itself." Saber said dryly. EXO and Mark sweatdropped. "Oh come ON, at least we tried!" Mark exclaimed, exasperated. Saber's frown dissolved into a smile. "I'm only kidding, you guys. Did you get any info on the current situation?" "Errr, well we had to find you, we didn't have time!" Mark said. "Well it looks like the problem's over, for the most part." "Think again." EXO said, gesturing through a door. "The lab's on fire." "WHAT?" Exclaimed Mark and Saber simultaneously. All three of them made their way through a doorway, only to find a gaping hole in the roof, flames nipping at the walls and the ceiling. Saber sighed. "What next?" >Oak blinked once, then yelled to his aides who were fighting the fire, >"EVERYONE GET BACK!" > >The group had just enough time to see a Dragonite nearby before its >Surf attack went into full force, thoroughly drenching everyone near the >fire (and also managing to put the fire out, but aimed more at the >people than the fire). Saber, EXO and Mark stood sopping wet. "We just have the BEST timing, don't we??" Mark said dryly. He then added "Whoa, would you look at that!!" Through a hole in the wall, the outside of the lab could be seen. An area of intense blue shimmering light had appeared. Mark went over by where Oak was standing. He didn't bother the Professor, but stood close enough to hear what he was saying. >"--only one explanation for these readings I know of, >but it's a purely theoretical concept: a Chrono Shift Portal. >Supposedly, they can happen if large amounts of energy are discharged >near a source of quantum disruption. But disruption sources of the >necessary size simply don't exist in nature. You'd have to have >something as large as, say, two humans, already shifted through time." Mark watched as Oak closed the portal, took note of what he had said, then returned to his colleagues. "It appears that was a time portal" he explained. "I saw three people pass through it, and they didn't come out the other side. Oak closed the portal, so wherever those three people went, that's where theyre gonna stay." People were starting to leave as the fascination with the portal decreased and need to get dry increased. "I'm not too comfortable in these wet clothes." EXO commented, "Let's head back to Mark's place and get some sleep." The trio left Oak's and made their way back to Mark's house/lab. Once inside, they proceeded to get dry and get ready for bed. Mark retired to his quarters, while EXO and Saber took a guest room each. It had been a long day. Who knows what was in store for them tomorrow? TBC? 1. OK it's corny I know. I know, but I don't care! 2. It's a little late, but can still fit in with the continuity. 3. Bah Humbug. ------------------------ Saber's Sig v1.7 "PK Thunder!
