Subject: [PW!] Preparing for a Journey, both Physically and Mentally.

Just after dawn, Viridian City Pokemon Center.
Saber is lying on one of the couches, sound asleep. Sunlight is just
streaming through the glass doors in the front of the Pokemon Center. They had
been totally redesigned since he had last been here, with new panes of glass
that had the insignia of the Pokemon league etched into them. The effect was
stunning, especially if viewed in the early morning hours, such as it was now.
Saber, fully asleep, couldn't care less.
Suddenly, a loud clatter is heard as a pair of Chansey rush by the main
waiting area into the emergency room, an injured Pokemon on their stretcher. It
is loud enough to yank Saber from his blissfull sleep in a matter of seconds.
Groggily, he sat up and yawned. Being woken up so abrubtly, things did not
rationalize properly in his mind. He thought he saw two pink blobs of silly
putty slide past him and dissappear into the wall. Realizing this was
impossible, he shook his head and went back to sleep, muttering to himself
about "magical silly putty."
2 or 3 hours later, Saber awoke naturally and looked around. He recalled
a previous thought, about silly putty, but dismissed it as a dream. He got up
and stretched, and decided to have something to eat. Hoping for the best, he
searched in his bag for some food. His search was rewarded, as he found 2 Pop
tarts and a bag of cereal. Mark always seemed to know what Saber would need,
beter than Saber himself it seemed at times.
Munching on the cereal, Saber prepared for the day. Today would be the
day he began his new life, the life of an honest trainer. He had to make sure
he didn't make any errors. Rummaging through his bag, he found the three Poke
Balls that contained his Pokemon: Odd, Koffee and UV-ultra. Deciding to make
sure they were in the best possible condition before he set out, Saber went up
to Nurse Joy standing at the counter.
"Did you have a good night's sleep?" Joy asked brightly.
"I sure did. They really did a good job furnishing this place, I must
admit." Saber replied.
"I'm happy to hear it. Do you need any help?"
"Yes, actually, I do. I'd like you to revitalize my Pokemon, please."
Saber placed his three Poke Balls in the tray on the counter.
"OK, this shouldn't take more than a few minutes. I'll tell you when
they're ready!" Joy smiled and took the tray to wherever they healed the
Pokemon. Saber never had paid much attention when it came to Pokemon Centers,
especially ones this far from his home town.
5 minutes later, she returned with Saber's Pokemon. "All done!" she
exclaimed.
Smiling, Saber took the Poke Balls and hooked them onto his belt. "Thanks!
I'm planning on leaving within the hour, so 'goodbye' if I don't see you
again."
"Have a safe journey!" Joy said, before returning to the back room.
Saber packed up all his things, checking to make sure his Poke Balls and
Pokedex were firmly attached to his belt. Putting his cap on his head, he
swiveled it 90 degrees to the right. This last action signified his return to
his "old ways", before Team Rocket. He seemed a little reluctant to leave the
Center. What would be out there for him? How would he deal with challenges? And
more importantly, how would he manage to pay back Jessie and James for their
treachery? These were questions, he rationalized, that would be answered in
time, and then only by himself. He was finally ready.
