"Hey," he said to himself, "the Grandpa Canyon thing started and we're waay back here. I guess it's time to go. Derrick went searching for the others and walked by the Saffron Gym. Suddenly, a strong force came over him and he couldn't help but to walk inside. It felt like he was posessed by a Gengar. "Or being controlled by a Psychic!" "Huh?" Derrick turned around and saw a boy in a white shirt and two spoons in his hands. "I read your mind." He then focused on the two plastic spoons and made them bend. "Pretty cool, huh?" "Whatever." Derrick had been in the gym before and he knew that most psychics loved to show off their powers. "Well, I bet you can't do that!" Derrick sighed and grabbed two more spoons from him and snapped them in half with his physical force. "Anyway," the boy said nearly in tears, "I led you into this gym because i want to battle! Will you accept?" "Uhh, no, I'm busy." "Don't make me make you.." "What are you talking about?" The boy's eyes started to glow and Derrick's poke balls hanged in the air. Then, he took out his own ball and dropped it on the ground. "I choose, Mr. Mime! And you choose...." Derrick tried to clear his thoughts, but for a split second thought, "Not Oddish, not Oddish!" "Derrick chooses Oddish!" the poke ball opened and out came the little runt. The boy used his powers to keep Oddish and Derrick still. Then, with one Confusion, Mr. Mime knocked out Oddish. "I WIN!" "gmgmgmg.." "Now, gimme gimme your money!" "NO WAY!" Derrick punched the boy lightly and he fainted. He has a powerful mind, but a weak body. Derrick ran out and away from the Saffron Gym as fast as his legs could carry them. Derrick met up with Dern and Kathy. "Look what i got," Dern said. He showed them a funny shaped machine. " It's a TM i got from Mr. Psychic." "Whatever, lets get outta here!" Derrick rushed the two away from Saffron and south. "Just exactly where are we going?" Kathy asked. "Grandpa Canyon." "What?!
