The door to the next room creaked open. Sirius cautiously poked his head
inside, then confidently strode through the door. The room was filled with
gravestones, and wasn't very well lit.
"Agatha, I challenge you!" Sirius waited for a minute but didn't get a
response. His eyes searched the room. Agatha was nowhere to be seen. Sirius
scratched his head in confusion. He looked again to find Agatha right in front
of him. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
"What's wrong with you, boy?" asked Agatha.
"Uh... Nothing, you just sort of scared me, that's all." Sirius cleared his
throat. "I challenge you, Agatha!"
"Fine. I haven't had a match for months. I'll use five Pokémon. Go,
Gengar!" Agatha slowly walked to the other end of the room and dropped the
Pokéball onto the floor, letting it roll towards Sirius. He stepped backwards.
The Pokéball opened.
"GENGAH!" Gengar vanished as soon as it appeared. Sirius was about to say
something but shut his mouth.
"Go, Marowak!"
"MARO! Maro! Maro?" Marowak waited for Agatha to send out her Pokémon.
Without warning, Marowak was thrown to the wall, hitting it head first.
"GENGAH! Gengar gengar!" laughed Gengar. It reappeared.
"Marowak, use Bonemerang!" Marowak recovered and realized he was fighting a
ghost Pokémon. He threw the bone at Gengar, who promptly dodged.
"Gengar, Confuse Ray!" cackled Agatha.
"GENGAH!" Gengar concentrated its energy and fired a blue beam at Marowak.
Marowak moved to dodge, but the beam curved and hit him. Marowak stood up and
blinked.
"Maro... Maro..." Marowak was dizzily stumbling around. His stomach churned.
Sirius was bewildered.
"Marowak, Bone Club again!" Marowak hit himself on the head. He looked at
Sirius and began to hit him in the knee. "Hey, not me! STOP! GET OFF!"
"GENGAH!" Gengar was rolling on the floor laughing.
"Gengar, Hypnosis attack!" Gengar began to levitate, still giggling. It
waved its fingers left and right. Marowak turned back to Gengar as soon as its
confusion subsided. He took one look at Gengar and fell asleep.
"Huh?" Rubbing his knee, Sirius was unsure of what was going on.
"Gengar, Dream Eater!" Gengar floated to Marowak and put its hands on his
head. Marowak suddenly shook. He rose his head and hit it on the ground over
and over. Sirius cringed at every slam. Marowak awoke with a start.
"Maro?" Marowak had a bad headache.
"Marowak, Bonemerang! You can beat it in one hit!" Marowak, despite the
aching pain in his head, threw the bone a second time. Gengar was still
laughing.
"Gengar, return!" Gengar was safely returned to its Pokéball before it could
get hurt. "Golbat, go!"
"Gol! Bat! Gol! Bat! Gol! Bat!"
"Marowak, return! That wasn't fair!" he complained to Agatha. "I was about
to beat your Gengar!"
"Hmmph. You're just as whiny and stupid as Ash Ketchum."
"Go, Reis!" Sirius bit his lip.
"Dra gondra dragonair!" she squealed. She rose her head up to Golbat.
"Reis, Thunder now!"
"Dra... dra... DRAGONAIR!" Bolts of electricity lit up the room. They
streamed to Golbat and shocked it. It fell to the ground, burnt to a crisp and
shaking.
"Gol..." it coughed. Agatha returned it to its Pokéball.
"Gengar, go!" Gengar materialized, still laughing.
"Reis, return! Marowak, go!"
Marowak rushed to Gengar and pounded, knocking the wind out of it. Gengar
stopped laughing and groaned. Marowak clubbed Gengar again, causing it to
faint. Sirius resisted the urge to gloat. Agatha glowered at Sirius.
"Gengar, return! Haunter, go! Teach this boy a lesson!"
"HAW HAW HAW HAUNTER!" Haunter smiled and stuck out its tongue.
"Hmm... I better not let Marowak take a beating again. Marowak, return! Go,
Seadra!"
"Sea! SEA!"
"Haunter, Night Shade now!"
"Haw haw haw!" Haunter floated up to the windows, the only source of light.
Seadra was cast into a dark shadow. Sirius watched intently. Small squiggles
seem to appear in Sirius's eyes on the shadow. He blinked and looked again to
see Seadra was shivering in pain. The shadow suddenly became blue, shrouding
Seadra from sight.
"SEA!" cried Seadra. Haunter floated back down, waiting for Agatha's next
command.
"Haunter, use Confuse Ray!"
Haunter began to concentrate its energy while Seadra struggled to recover.
"Seadra, Water Gun before it gets the chance!"
Seadra blasted the water at Haunter, pushing it back to the wall. Haunter,
trying to avoid getting hit by any more water, floated up to the ceiling above
Seadra. She just raised her head and continued to assault Haunter with rapid
water blasts. The water showered back down onto Seadra and Sirius.
"Haunter, return! Arbok, go!" Agatha's face turned into a sour frown.
"CHAAAA BOKA!"
"Seadra sea!"
"Seadra, return! Go, Gyarados!"
"GRRAAAAAAR!"
The leviathan-like dragon towered over the cobra. Arbok hissed and glared.
Gyarados turned its head and slammed into the floor, barely missing Arbok.
Gyarados curved its body around Arbok and wrapped itself around it. Arbok
wiggled, but couldn't move. Instead, it sank its teeth into Gyarados's tough
scales.
"GRAAAAR!" Gyarados loosened its grip and roared, allowing Arbok to escape.
Gyarados caught Arbok's tail into its teeth. Gyarados swung its massive body
around and let go of Arbok, hurling it into the air. Arbok landed with a thud.
It was promptly returned to its Pokéball.
"My old Gengar has much more experience than any of your Pokémon, Sirius,"
muttered Agatha. "Don't underestimate its power. Gengar, go!"
"Gyarados, use Ice Beam to freeze it!"
"Gengar, Toxic and Confuse Ray!"
Gyarados fired the icy beam at Gengar. It was hit, but wasn't hurt badly.
Gengar released the poison throughout the air. Gyarados was immediately
intoxicated.
"Gyarados, return!" yelled Sirius. "Go, Aerodactyl!"
"AEERRROOOOO!" Sirius's Aerodactyl glided through the air.
"Aerodactyl, use Wing Attack!" Aerodactyl swooped down and slapped Gengar
with its wing. Gengar rolled backwards and returned to its feet.
"Gengar, Hypnosis and Dream Eater!"
"Aerodactyl, one more Wing Attack!"
Aerodactyl shut its eyes and blindly flew to Gengar. Gengar waved its
fingers, but Aerodactyl was unaffected. Aerodactyl delivered a powerful smack,
KO'ing Gengar.
"Gengar, return. You win, Sirius," said Agatha. "I guess now I see what
Lance sees in you." The doors to the next room swung open. Sirius took a deep
breath and hesitantly stepped through the doors.
TBC...
This really sucked... I'll make up for it in the next story.
