I'd like to challenge the gym for a Thunder Badge..." A very, very large man got up from his chair and approached her. "YOU?! Okay...but I'm not gonna go easy on ya!" "Fine, whatever..." [OOC: Yeah, it was brief. I wanna get to the battle...] Lt. Surge directed Natasha to the arena. "I'll use three Pokémon. I'm gonna give you a break...you can use four, if you want..." "Sure. You go first." "Voltorb, go!" Natasha paused before selecting... "Hitmonchan, go!" Tenchi's Hitmonchan appeared. He turned around and looked at Natasha, confused. From the sidelines, Tenchi told him not to worry...Natasha was only borrowing him. "Voltorb, Screech!" "It's okay, Hitmonchan! Use Ice Punch!" The Pokéball-like device let out a piercing Screech. Natasha cringed and covered her ears as Hitmonchan gave Voltorb his Ice Punch. Voltorb hung in place...frozen. "Now, Fire Punch!" "Use Self Destruct, Voltorb!" Voltorb hummed, trying to process the command with frozen circuitry. Hitmonchan punched Voltorb again, this time with his fist flaming. As he hit it, a huge explosion rocked the room. When the smoke cleared, both Voltorb and Hitmonchan were out. Both trainers returned their fallen Pokémon. Lt. Surge promptly sent out a Pikachu. Natasha hesitated. /He said he had three...Misty and Brock saved strongest for last. I should wait on Cubone.../ "Go...Clefairy!" "Thunder Wave!" "Sing!" "FAIRY!" Clefairy held her ground against the bolt of electricity. When it passed, she could barely move...the paralysis had been effective. Still, she managed to get a few strains of her song out. Pikachu yawned and curled up on the floor. "PIKACHU! Wake up!" "Clefairy, Pound!" Pikachu snored slightly as Clefairy slowly waddled up, barely able to move. She lifted one tiny fist and smacked Pikachu. The rodent responded with a light mumble. "Pikachu, wake up! That's an order!" "Hit him again, Clefairy!" It took almost 30 seconds for Clefairy to hit her opponent again. By the time she had, he had woken up. As he was struck, he was using Thundershock. Clefairy promptly passed out. "Crud...Clefairy, return! Go...Charmander?" "ManderCHAR!" Charmander leapt in front of Pikachu and scratched him before he could respond. Pikachu used a rather weak Thundershock, but Charmander Embered it into submission. "Pikachu, return...go, RAICHU!" "Wow...good job, Charmander! Return! Go on, Cubone!" Cubone had been standing next to Natasha. When prompted, he waddled into the arena, a short distance away from the larger Raichu. "Raichu, Thunderbolt!" "Cubone, deflect it and use Bone Club!" The powerful bolt was easily deflected by Cubone's twirling bone, and what got to him was not strong enough to effect him. As the bolt subsided, Cubone smacked Raichu. Twice. It squealed in pain. "Okay, Raichu, hold in there. Body Slam!" "Cubone, move it!!" Cubone couldn't move in time. Raichu slammed down on the masked Pokémon, pinning him. After Raichu got up, Cubone couldn't move. "NO! Cubone, return! Go back out, Charmander!" "All right...Body Slam again!" Charmander was unlucky enough to appear in front of of Raichu. This time, the creature didn't get off him right away. Charmander squeaked...the heavy Raichu was suffocating him. "Charmander, hold on! Burn him!" "You've got him where you want him...THUNDERBOLT!" As Raichu charged up, Charmander moved his tail slightly. The flame seared Raichu's side, causing him to fall back, now burned badly. The charge was lost as Raichu sparked wildly, sending off all sorts of pain signals. "Raichu, I said Thunderbolt!" "Charmander! Ember, NOW!" Raichu fired off Thunderbolt just as Charmander's flame hit him. Both fell back. Raichu didn't get back up. "YESSSSS!!! Charmander, return!" Natasha bounded up to Lt. Surge. He sighed and handed her the Thunder Badge and Thunderbolt TM. Laughing, she ran back to Tenchi, handing back Hitmonchan. --Natasha V. DINNER!
