"This place is kinda creepy." Clarissa said shivering slightly. "I've heard that Sabrina's gym is far worse" "Are you my next challenger?" a voice form the darkness asked. "Yes. I am." Jake said mimicing the seriousness of Brock's voice. "Alright then, lets go." A spotlight flicked on illuminating one side of the arena, then another one illuminated the other side. "We each use one pokemon ok? I need to make this one a quick battle." Jake nodded. "Ok." "I'll use the pokemon I just caught. Go, Rhyhorn!" The pokeball cracked open and after a flash of light revealed the rock monster. "Rhy, horn!" Jake reached for his Cubone's pokeball, then stopped remembering that he had decided to beat him with his flying pokemon. "Go, Sawtooth!" The dinosaur pokemon flew out of his pokeball and hovered in the air, waiting for its trainer's orders. "Sawtooth, use supersonic!" The Aerodactyl nodded and flew up higher. "Aaee rro dac tyl." Jake could almost see the disorienting waves coming from Aerodactyl. Brock ordered his Rhyhorn to tackle Aerodactyl. Rhyhorn pawed the ground twice and charged, and ran into the wall. "Sawtooth! use Hyper Beam." A beam of multicolored light shot out of Aerodactyl's jaws and struck the dioriented Rhyhorn. The beast fell over, defeated. "Good match. You have rightfully earned the boulderbadge." Jake took the badge,nodded then walked out of the gym. "Well that was an interesting match." Clarissa said. "He was pretty serious I'm surprised he didn't try to hit on you." Clarissa nearly choked on the water she was drinking. She spit it out sputtering and coughing. Jake hit her on the back a couple times. "You okay?" he asked. She nodded and they continued onto Cerulean. TBC The Saint
