From: Goola the Hutt <goola2u@aol.compostheap> Subject: [PW!] Catnip and Chaos, Rainbows and Rampages Date: Wednesday, June 23, 1999 7:31 PM Sneakers awoke... The morning in this place was beautiful. Howvevr, something was afoul. "Groooooooowl!" howled myriad voices, which were answered by a commanding "Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrroooooocanine!!". Sneakers cringed, but then realized he had to stand strong. The plant pokémon in this gym were vulnerable to fire. The fire from these hellhound would surely be enough to reduce the paradise to cinders. And he was the only one awake. The only one who could stop them. "Drumsticks! Harshell! Go!" The Psyduck and Wartortle popped out and took on the Growlithes, but the Arcanine, this pack's alpha, had already made a beeline for Sneakers. Paraziled with fear, Sneakers couldn't run. At the lash moment, he reflexively slashed the monstrous dog on the snout. The Arcanine was not used to retaliation in such circumstances, and, when he noticed how poorly his pack was faring, had all the reason he needed to retreat. Sneakers caught the scent of Erika's perfume as she walked in, just in time to see the hounds retreating. "Well," she said, "such a display of courage certainly merits a Rainbow Badge." She reached down and pinned the flower-shaped badge onto Sneakers's collar. "Now," she said, "you may continue along your quest." "But..." said Sneakers, "I like it here." "Go on, get on with it. The sooner you're on your way," said Erika firmly, "the sooner that poor Oddish will recover from the mental trauma." Sneakers mewled indignantly and walked out the door, beginning the long walk to Saffron. The thought of Maria, his owner... had she abandoned him?... played in his head, but he dismisssed it. She hadn't abandoned him, and he owed his kidnapper nothing... but she had been a good owner... Well, he decided, if she wanted him, she knew where to find him. TBC? Shard Fields, who thought it was about time to get Sneakers out of his cat nap. ^_^;
