Subject: [PW!] [CC] Chaoticllama after surgery.
Date: Friday, June 25, 1999 8:08 AM
The surgeons had taken 4 hours with chaoticllama. Claire knew, having
seen the x-rays, knew that they would have to reconstruct the left shoulder
almost completely. His right knee was completely shattered. The easiest job
would have been setting the left shin.
A nurse came up to claire in the waiting room. The nurses expression was
grim. "He's probably lost some range of motion in the shoulder, and he may
not be able to walk without a crutch ever again. He will likely never fully
recover. He's still asleep, but you can wait to talk to him in room 316."
With that, she turned briskly around and left.
Claire walked down the hall until she reached the room. She took a deep
breath, and opened the door. Chaoticllama looked a mess, a cast on both legs
from foot to thigh. He arm left arm was entirely incased in a cast, from
finger tips to neck. He was also still very pale. There was an iv in his
right wrist, for the blood transfusion. Just as the door finished shutting,
his eyelids began to twitch up. "What in the he..." he almost whispered, and
then remembered about the fight in the alley. Then he noticed claire,
stunning as ever. "Hello," he grunted out as a twinge of pain surged through
his right leg. "You know, we can't stick around here long enough for the
doctors to remove the casts. ATR will be back, and I'm not exactly ready for
any kind of fight." He flexed his right hand. "Well, I could still do sniper
duty, but that's about it." Claire walked over to his right side, and held
his hand. "We'll make it through, no one can stop us," she said
reassuringly. Chaoticllama smiled looking into her eyes, but he was a
realist. Special forces days had taught him to keep your eyes in front of
you. A doctor walked into the room.
"In 3 days, we can switch those casts to a lighter, more mobile form.
We've been working with new alloys and have made some great advances in the
field." The doctor then left the room.
