From: <kawaiikid@my-deja.com> Subject: [PW!] Ezad's Tale - Chapter 1 Rewrite Date: Sunday, June 13, 1999 4:21 AM CHAPTER 1 EZAD COME, EZAD GO ***** "Master Ball, go!" The Master Ball flew from Ezad's hand, and captured the Mewtwo. Ezad had finally finished his Pokemon collection, when suddenly the Mewtwo began to speak... "Ezad... Ezad, wake up!" ***** Ezad awoke from his dream to find himself in his own bedroom in his house in Pallet Town, realizing that he had no Mewtwo, nor any other Pokemon to begin with. (And if he did possess a Mewtwo, I would be banned from the PokeWars, but I digress.) He had just turned 10 years old, and according to the town's tradition, 10-year-olds are supposed to get their starter Pokemon from Professor Oak's lab. Ezad Otteg Uzaranak lost his parents at a young age, so he had to fend for himself. His parents used to be skilled Pokemon masters in their heyday, and he was about to continue the Uzaranak family line of tradition by following in their footsteps. As Ezad approached the lab, Professor Oak greeted him. "Hello, Ezad!" he (the Professor) said. "It's time for you to pick out your beginning Pokemon!" The professor led Ezad to a room with three PokeBalls on a table. Which one would he (Ezad) choose? Ezad chose the PokeBall closest to him. Eventually, it opened up to reveal a blue lizard-like creature with a green plantlike bulb on its back. "Bulba bulbasaur!" Ezad realized the Pokemon he had picked was indeed a Bulbasaur. It could have been any Pokemon, even a Magikarp. It could have also been a pile of dirty sweat socks. But no, it was a Bulbasaur. "Good choice!" said the Professor. "Its attacks will help you early on in your adventure." Suddenly, Ezad heard a growling noise from behind a locked door. "Grr grr!" Ezad asked Professor Oak, "What is that growling coming from?" "That's my grandson Gary," said the Professor. "He's shut himself up in there ever since he lost to a Pokemon trainer named Ash." Ezad started to laugh at poor Gary, but was too polite. Ezad went on his way. "Goodbye!" the Professor said. "And good luck!" "Goodbye!" Ezad said back to him. Ezad left Professor Oak's lab and started toward Route 1, experiencing freedom for the first time. TO BE CONTINUED IN CHAPTER 2... KAWAII! (Author's note: Are you happy now?)
