Even from the mouth of the cave, they could hear faint chants of "Diglett dig, Diglett dig..." echoing from the depths of the tunnel. "I don't like Diglett," Robert muttered under his breath. Rilli smiled and squeezed his hand, and the two stepped into the cave... The first thing Mithril-rama took note of was that it was surprisingly bright. She could see no holes in the walls or ceilings, but there was sufficient light in the cavern nonetheless. The floor of the cave was completely soil, and extremely loose. Each step Rilli took left a deep footprint in the dirt. She looked around the large tunnel in wonder, amazed that it could have been completely carved out by the smallest pokémon in the world. "Whoa!" Robert suddenly yelped as his foot unexpectedly sank into the uncompacted earth. Rilli helped him up, and both of them searched the ground for the cause of his stumble. A large hole remained where Robert's shoe stepped through the thin layer of soil over a Diglett's burrow. He muttered something under his breath, of which Rilli could only make out "...Diglett". She giggled to herself and continued walking. "Diglett!" "Gyaaaah!" Rilli tripped on something and landed on her stomach in the dirt. She sat up and dusted herself off, then glanced back. It was hard to make out details in the darkened tunnel, but she could swear she saw a lump disappear into the ground. "It's hazardous to walk in this darn cave," she muttered as Robert extended a hand to her. "Now I see why you don't like Diglett, Robert." They managed to continue on more carefully without much further troubles, but every once in a while a small brown head would pop out of the ground around their feet. Robert began to get uneasy. "I feel like we're being watched." "Diglett." One Diglett popped up in front of Mithril-rama's feet. She turned to avoid it, but another one appeared, followed by another. Soon, a good portion of the cave floor all around them was filled with the mole pokémon, each chanting their name cheerfully. "Diglett." "Diglett." "Diglett." "Trio-trio-trio!" "Diglett." Rilli frowned and rummaged around in her purse. She came up with Horsea's pokéball. "I'm hoping that they don't mean any harm, but just in case..." The water pokémon burst out of its container and Rilli caught it, aiming menacingly at the Digletts. Horsea spit out a few Bubbles, which floated into a Diglett's face. It shook its head furiously to clear away the water. One large group of Dugtrio suddenly popped up in front of Rilli, causing her to jump back. It frowned at her menacingly. "Trio." Horsea winced and suddenly sprayed a blast of Bubble everywhere, enveloping the cave in a light mist. A few Digletts retreated back into their burrows, but most of them simply looked irked. Rilli gulped and stepped closer to Robert. "I don't think that was a good idea..."
