From: Cat-Gonk <catgonk@hotmail.com> Subject: Re: [PW!] Inside the Fuschia Gym (ATTN- Moof) Date: Tuesday, June 01, 1999 12:48 AM (Previously, Felix, White Blade, Kirsty and Samuraichu were making their way into the Fuschia City Gym.) "Got you!" "Chu?" The passageway terminated in a closed tatami room. A trainer dressed in a juggler's garb confronted the group. "Koga is only a few steps away, but I will finish you first! Go Hypno!" The man threw a Pokeball into the air, releasing his Hypno. The large Pokemon landed on the passage tiling with a thud, thin slivers of ceramic tile scattering around him. Felix reached for a Pokeball. His father had warned him about this trainer, he was one of the best psykers in the land. In his childhood days, Lionel had been soundly beaten by the same Drowzee, perhaps his only defeat inside a gym. Taking hold of Cygnet's Pokeball, Felix prepared for battle. "Go Cygnet!" He wound up, and threw the ball directly at Hypno. Cygnet materialised in a dive, imapcting squarely into the Hypno's skull. The force threw it to the ground, but was insufficient to achieve a kill. "Hypno! Hypnosis!" However, the pendulum was in Cygnet's beak. The Farfetch'd had again used his unnatrual ability to sense Felix's thoughts, and prepared for another dive. The confines of the passageway restricted his power, and made it hard for a Sky Attack. "Psychic!" Though without his signature move, Hypno could still deal out damage. Powerful surges of mental energy ripped into Cygnet's mind, silently and effortlessly knocking him out of the air and into the path. A beam of light quickly returned him to the relative safety of the Pokeball. Kirsty stepped infront of Felix, and reached for her Pokebelt. Her dragons were too large to use at all in the confines of the passage, but Growlithe was always at hand. Plucking the sphere for her belt, she steeled herself for combat. "Go Growlithe! Use Take Down!" Hypno lifted his hand, and his pendulum flew back into his grasp. Growlithe came out of the Pokeball in a run, but was rendered unconscious before he could even react to the assault. The young fire-dog collpaed, overwhelmed and full of thoughts of Cubone..... "Gaah! I'll do it!" White Blade vaulted off the passage wall, and lashed out with his katana. Hypno's pendulum was cut cleanly in half, straight through the middle. "There!" Performing a treble flip, White Blade landed on his feet, and was swept into the air by a gust of Poison Gas. Kirsty caught him, and quickly searched her shorts for a Full Heal. "He's great, isn't he? I've had him for thirty years..." spoke the juggler. It was the Hypno Charlesson had been reffering to. Upon hearing this, Clampion's chained Pokeball broke open. "Cloyster!" "What the..." Clampion remembered it vividly. After Sequiro's death, Charlesson raised another team and repeated his Pokemon Journey. As a Shellder, Clampion had fought in the Fuschia Gym and had been KOed in his first fight, against a Drowzee. "How'd he do that! The chains are solid steel!" Felix gathered up the remains of Charlesson's custom Pokeball, but didn't even think of trying to restrain Clampion. He'd seen what Percivore and Starmine were like, and didn't expect Clampion to be any different. The opposing Hypno raised his arms, and attempted to slam Clampion into the roof. Brushing off the comparatively weak mental assault with his strong resistance, Clampion hit Hypno square-on with an Ice Beam. "Cloyster!" The blast cracked the walls, turning them into solid ice. Clampion was not about to let an old foe escape alive. Back then, Drowzee was the stronger. Now, the tables were turned. Hypno picked himself up from the icicle-littered ground and broke into a run, desperate to avoid the psychotic Cloyster after him. Clampion gave chase, and having reached the peak of his abilities was more than able to catch up. Lowering his shell, Clampion lunged forwards and impaled the Hypno on his many spines, shattering its back and piercing its body with razor-sharp spikes. "No! Hypno!" The juggler ran towards Cloyster who, turned and opened his shell, eager for new victims. "CHU!!!!" A blast of lightning surged through Clampion, overwhelming his defenses and knokcing him unconscious. Samuraichu stood infront of the group, halberd levelled at Clampion's diamond core. Felix released Chansey, who rushed over to the Hypno on the scarred Cloyster's back. It was still breathing, but would need extensive surgery. She pried the psychic Pokemon from Clampion's shell, and placed him in the safety of a Medi-Ball. "Will, will he live?" The juggler was in shock. Kirsty supported him up, and leaned him against the wall. "Chansey chansiiii!!" The Medi-Ball was green, a good sign. She rushed off to the nearby Pokecentre, leaving the group behind. Clampion, still paralysed, was swiftly returned to the hastily-repaired Chain Ball. Obviously, he hadn't quite overcome his various neuroses yet. "He's awesome! Where did you get that!" asked White Blade. He jumped out of Kirsty's arms, and adressed Felix. Even as RK, he'd never witnessed such power. "My dad raised him. Have you heard of Lionel Charlesson?"
