(The soda machine thing is based on something that actually happened yesterday,
while the rest I just made up pretty much. Okay?)
"This truly is my lucky day," thought Shard out loud. "Swiped a bunch of
pokémon from dumb little kids, and no psychics have bothered me yet." Shard
smiled as le leaned on a soda machine, sudenly, he heard a loud "clang,"
folllowed by a small, metallic "clink". He took the change, and began sipping
on the soda as he walked over to the bench where Banshee and Melodia had sat
down.
A kid with a hat walked up. "Hi, I'm Ness, I'm looking for some guy named
Shard." "I am he, hat's up?" said Shard, sipping his soda. "Oh, good, hi
Shard, I'm from Earthbound," said Ness enthusiastically. "I'm between games,
and some gal named Sabrina offered me a summer job hunting you down, said
something about my psychic abilities, don't know how she knew though."
"Great," mutttered Shard, "My day's going just splendid, and now I get busted
by some psyhic freak boy..."
At this, Ness ran off. "I'm sorry!" shouted Shard. "I am NOT a freak! I'm
just drawn differently!" shouted Ness in Shard's mind. Shard shrugged, and
went to phone the boss.

Shard wanted to test his luck. "Hey, Big G!" said Shard as the image of
Giovanni appeared on the monitor. "I understand you're having Pika problems,"
smiled Shard. "That," said Givanni sourly, "is of no concern to you." "Oh, but
it is," smiled Shard. "Because let's say I bring you the annoying little
omnipotent rat. What would you give me?"
Giiovanni looked at Shard, somewhat annoyed. Many had offered this, all had
failed. And yet Shard knew this. "What do you want?" asked Giovanni. "I
want," said Shard, "to be with Maria. To be able to let her know how I feel."
"Shard," said Giovanni, "it's a bad idea to flirt with women who carry heavy
artillery. However, in the unlikely event you bring me Ash Ketchum's Pikacu, I
will even pay for the funer... Er, the wedding. Giovanni out."
Shard smiled. He'd begin looking soon. This had truly been a lucky day.
