"WHY?!?!?!" shouted Shard, as the voice intruded into his head again. "WHAT IS
IT I KNOW?!?!?!" "It involves the takeover at Saffron," said Sabrina coldly.
"What?!?! everyone knows atbout THAT!" said Shard, stunned.
"Everyone knows," said Sabrina, "that it happened. But they don't know how."
"How?!?!? So you're after my head on a platter because of... of... of trade
secrets or something!?!? Goddish, Sabrina, I coulda just signed a
nondisclosure agreement."
Sabrina just laughed. "You'll most likely remember sometime. But I suppose I
could tell you now. I warn you, it's not pretty... but much in this life
isn't. Don't worry, this should only hurt... a lot." Sabrina laughed evilly,
as the memorys began flooding back.
**Begin Falshback.**
The warrior of the Saffron Dojo were lying unconscious on the ground. "Why?"
asked the young boy. "You said you just wanted a match for fun with them!"
Sabrina looked into the nine-year-old's eyes. "The real world," she laughed,
"plays rough." She then turned to her assistant. "Brainwash them, kill them,
let them go," she said, pointing to three groups of unconscious bodies.
the young Shard Hunter charged at Sabrina. "You MURDERER!" he shouted.
Sabrina teliknetically held him at an arms length. "Oh, no, far worse," she
laughed, turning to another assistant. "Brainwash this one, and I'll forgive
you for the Jynx incident." "I cannot," said the assistant, "his will is too
strong."
"Fine," said Sabrina, "I'll block off his memories, and we'll put him in the
wild. He won't last."
So Shard was set in the middle of nowhere, and was at the mercy of an
Electabuzz before Undermine showed up. Undermine, his best friend for that
journey, whom he'd alienated since. His pokédex provided no clue as to wjo he
was, so he entered a new identity in, and began to look for home.
**End Flashback**
He remembered earlier this year, when he decided to begin his pokémon journey
propper. "Home's that way," he'd told Undermine. It was just a guess, but
still, it was odd, coming from someone who now wasn't sure he'd ever had, or
ever would have, a home.
Later that day, he remembered, he'd beaten Ash. That was surely a sign that
something was amisss. What was the champ doing with low-level pokémon?
Shard realized, as Sabrina's prescence left him, that there was much to sort
out.
