He had just been refused membership to the Cinnabar Island Gym. He ran to his room and started packing. "Okay, I need my pokédex, my skates, my pokémon, and my other stuff... where will I head next??" Rainer thought to himself. "Maybe I can go to Cerulean and get my second badge {I forgot to put that he won his first badge when he was on his pokémon trainers leave as a kid. He came back at age 13}. I may be able to catch a Bulbasaur or Poliwag on the way..." He quietly left the house so his dad wouldn't hear him leave and went to the Pidgeot Airlines Station. He untied his own Pidgeot while no one was looking and zoomed off.. "Hey... I can take this Pidgeot for myself.. since I can let my Charizard keep it's energy, I'll use it against Misty," He thought. He soon fell asleep and fell off the Pidgeot. He was asleep for 1 day before he woke up in a bed. "Hello? Hello?? Are you awake yet?" said a strange voice. "Whuh... where am I??" He asked, barely able to speak. "You're on Stone Island. You're a lucky one. Your Dratini brought you safely here. My name's Angela," She said. "A Dratini?? I don't have a Dratini... where is it?" Rayner asked. "Oh, it's in my pool. my little sister is playing with it. You can see it later.. you need to rest. Didn't catch your name," dshe asked. "Sorry, it's Rayner.. say, do you have any pokémon??" he asked. "Yeah, I have a Marowak and a Seel.. You should get some rest.. I'll check up on you later.."she said as she left the room. "She's hot," Rayner thought to himself. "Maybe she'll come with me to..." he drifted off in thought as Angela took care of the Dratini.. he woke up the next day and came out of bed. "Good Morning, Rayner. Mom and dad left early this morning so they could go to the mainland. And, I'm leaving on my trainer's leave today. By the way, what are you going to do with that Dratini?? Angela said. "Whoa, slow down. I'll decide on that later, I want to go look for some evolution stones," Rayner said. "Well, the only one's you'll find here are Thunderstones.. the people of Stone Town near Vermillion colonized this island and stopped production when their source ran dry... but we're ok now, because we have our own source in the caves. I'll show you around." said Angela. Rayner, anxiously ran outside and got out his Charizard. They rode his to the beach and started searching. "Hey, Rayner, I brought an Item finder so we'll have better results. You may have to dig a little." Angela said as she brought out the item finder. They search about 10 minutes before they got a response from the Item Finder. "Rayner, search around that sandy area near the caves. I'm getting a big response from the Item Finder," Angela said as she pointed in the direction of the response. Rayner rushed over to the spot and started digging. He reached 2 stones, a thunderstone and a water stone. "Whoa! That's cool! I didn't know there were any water stones here.. Go! Eevee!" said Rayner as he let his Eevee come out. "Eevee, which stone do you want?" Rayner's Eevee sniffed the Thunderstone, and then gave a single "vee" to signify that he wanted the Thunderstone. Rayner picked up the Thunderstone and put it on Eevee's head, and Eevee started to evolve. It grew larger, and then spikes grew from where it's hair was. Then, it let out a tremendous thundershock into the air. "Alright! I got a Jolteon!!!" shouted Rayner as his new émon went back into the ball. "Let me look at that water stone.. it looks a little weird," said Angela as they flew back home. She put it in her backpack and they went to her house. "Hey, Angela, do you want to come with me to Cerulean City? I'm going to battle Misty for the Cascade Badge. Maybe we can catch some new pokémon." offered Rayner. "Good idea, Rayner. And on the way there, we can see about who gets to keep that Dratini.." said Angela. "Wait a sec.. the pokéball on my neck? It must be a Dratini! That's the pokémon that I was given at birth!" Said Rayner. He called back his Dratini, and Angela said by to her sister. They got on Charizard and started their journey to Cerulean City.
