Rain is searching for 2 Pokemon poachers who reportedly have snuck trained Pokemon and Ultra Balls into the Safari Zone to capture Pokemon illegally. Rain crawls through bushes toward what sounds like fighting. She finally makes it as she peeks through to a small clearing. She sees 2 males, both about 10 years old. A Geodude is pummeling a Dratini. Rain calls out 3 of her 5 Butterfrees. They soar above the attacks and their Pokemon. "Hey, look at those black Butterfree! And those baby blue eyes!" says one, in a squeaky voice. The other looks up at them. "Geodude, finish it with Tackle!" he says. Geodude tackles the Dratini, sending it flying. The poacher captures the Dratini easily. "Hey, what are they doing?!" as the poacher puts the Dratini away. The Butterfree release Psybeam, taking over the minds of the poaches. Rain springs up and quickly takes all their Pokeballs. "Mphff mphff mphhhh!" says one poacher. "You poached these and you know it." says Rain as she tosses the Pokeballs in her bag. "Butterfree, Sleep Powder now!" says Rain, slinking back into the bushes. The Butterfree put the poachers to sleep. Rain calls the Butterfree back and begins to leave the Safari Zone. -- Safari Zone, Entrance. Rain has just walked into the building. "I have found the poachers. My Butterfree put them to sleep. Look southwest of the secret house. These are all their Pokemon, legit and poached." says Rain, almost demanding as she drops 12 Pokeballs on the counter. Rain leaves as she hears the manager yelling about security to the guards. Rain stops suddenly, halfway out the door and turns around and walks up to one of the guards, who is very short. Rain yanks his hat off. "This is one of them." she says. The other guards take him away as he curses of revenge on Rain. "Issue a lock-down. Search everywhere for the other one." says the manager. "How did you know?" asks the manager. "Empathy - knowing emotions of others. I sensed that he was scared." says Rain as she leaves. The manager just stares with his jaw hanging down. Route 18, nearing Route 17. Rain has "borrowed" a motorbike and she is on her way to Celadon City for an emergency. Rain is riding along, admiring the wild Pokemon when suddenly the engine on her bike bursts into flames. Rain jumps from the bike. The bike keeps going and slams into a tree. Rain stays near the ground and crawls behind some bushes she looks around for someone or something. She releases 1 of her Butterfree to look around. As her Butterfree hovers over a tree, a blast of water hits the Butterfree. Butterfree goes flying as Rain calls it back and sends out the other 4 Butterfree. She springs up as 2 figures emerge with a Wartortle. As they step out of the shadow Rain recognizes them - they are Jessie and James. "You were on your way to Celadon, weren't you?" asks Jessie. Rain doesn't answer. "You heard of a Pokemon emergency there, didn't you?" asks James. Rain doesn't answer. "Hello? Are you alive?" asks James. Rain is busy searching their emotions. Jessie is in high spirits while James is scarred. Rain decides to attack Jessie first, because without Jessie's support, James will more then likely run. "Butterfree, Psybeam at that girl!" yells Rain, pointing at Jessie. "Wha-what are... you..." begins Jessie. She has lost control of her mind. "Put her behind those bushes." Rains says. As much as the Butterfree try, they can not lift Jessie. Suddenly, they loose control of Jessie. Rain feels Jessie with a sense of anger, revenge and victory. "FREEEEEEEE!" scream the Butterfree at once as Wartortle attacks them all. 3 of the Butterfree fall and Rain calls them back. "Go, Weezing!" says James. Wartortle returns. "Go, Arbok!" says Jessie. Rain applies a Super Potion to each of her downed Pokemon and calls out one of them. "You want a battle - you got it." says Rain. TBC
