They lived in Viridian City, and Shayna had Charmander since it was just an egg. "Well we might as well head off to Pewter City first. But lets go through Viridian Forest for some new Pokemon. Since you a fire type Charmander, we should catch lots of Pokemon easily in there." Shayna said. "Char char." Charmander said. As they walked through the forest Charmander noticed he was hearing an extra set of footprints behind him. "Char!" Charmander said, turning around ready to fight, but to his surprise, nothing was there! "Mander?" he said. "What? What's wrong Charmander?" Shayna asked. "Char char mander charman." Charmander said. Return Oddish!! Were countin on you Nash!" Crystal said. "Fine! Pidgey Sand-Attack!" Nash ordered. "Pidgey!'' Pidgey said he kicked up a cloud of sand. "Charmander flame thrower!" Shayna said. "Char!" Charmander said constantly Flaming but missing Pidgey every time. "Pidgey Gust attack." Nash said. "Piiiiiiidgeeeey!" Pidgey said gusting Charmander into a tree. "No! Charmander!" Shayna said. "Char man DER!" Charmander said as its tail flame brightened and grew. "A rage attack! Good thinking Charmander!" Shayna said. "Char man DER!" Charmander said roasting Pidgey, Nash, Crystal, and Spearow. "Looks lik we must leave. You have won the battle but the war ain't over." Crystal said as they ran off into the distance.
