From: Dfsoccer3 <dfsoccer3@aol.com> Subject: [PW!] The Adventure Begins (Part 2 of "Birth of Destruction") Date: Tuesday, June 15, 1999 8:30 PM Grant and Dillon continued walking until dusk. They had traveled the whole lengthed of the valley, and decided to camp in a gorge under a cleft in the rock. To pass some time away, Dillon started chipping away at some of the rock with his tools. When Grant asked him what he was doing, Dillon replied, "I got a hot tip a while ago that some rare pokemon fossils were found deep under rocks in this valley. If we find some we can take them to a Pokemon Lab somewhere and they can be ressurrected from their fossil form. I'm hoping for an Aerodactyl. "HAHA, yeah right, your not that lucky.", Grant said at the same time as he picked up his tools and started chipping away at the rocks. Here they were competing again. Just then, Dillon shouted out in excitement. For a second he thought he had found gold. But when he looked at it, it was just a little yellowish orangish glowing rock, probably just some kind of Old Amber. Dillon thought some museum or something might pay for something like this, even though he didn't really know what it was. They went to sleep. In the morning, they started on their way again. They passed out of the gorge to look up on the massive impressivness of the pokemon league area. They stared in awe until Grant's Butterfree started getting upset, and Solarbeamed a nearby Pidgey eating in the grass. Grant scolded his Butterfree, but Dillon knew that he was secretly laughing evil laughs in his head about the misfortune of the defenseless little Pidgey. They walked on. Finally, they had reached the rest house before entering Viridian Forest. They stocked up on supplies and pokeballs, just in case they passed by any rare forest-going pokemon. The forest trail was like a maze filled with Bug Catchers. Dillon and Grant didn't have time for them, so if one of them came up and started bullying, trying to fight, Scyther made quick mince-meat kabobs out of any free standing pokemon they might have had out, while Butterfree simply used her Sleep Powder to harmlessly knock out the trainer. Grant had to restrain his Butterfree from Solarbeaming the poor excuse for a trainer, his Butterfree was obedient, but got a little anxious and was solarbeam-happy. They continued on through the forest until they reached a small, out of the way clearing. In this center of this awesome, mystical place that looked like it came out of a fantasy story, there was a crystal clear pond. Dillon and Grant approached silently.... when all of the sudden the silence was broken by a loud banging and ringing noise, and a flash of bright light filled the clearing. Grant and Dillon swiveled around. It seemed that Scyther and Butterfree had got tangled up when Butterfree once again spazzed and unleashed a Solarbeam on the unsuspecting Scyther, blowing it backwards. Luckily, since Scyther was also a bug pokemon, it didn't hurt him THAT bad. But they both got scolded and sent back to their pokeballs for the time being. Grant and Dillon returned to the pond. All was quiet until all of the sudden, SPLASH! Out of the water came a small, sleek little creature, SPLASH! Another popped out, soon, there was a whole colony coming forth. They were Dratinis! Grant and Dillon held out their hands slowly, and two of the Dratinis from the crowd splashed their way forward and plopped down in their hands. The two boys were amazed at their find. These were very RARE pokemon. They had only heard of them being found in the Safari Zone, but obviously, there were underwater colonies elsewhere in the world. Both Dratinis slowly but willingly went into their new pokeballs happily. Their adventure had already started out great. They could only wait to see what would happen in the future........... Stay tuned.
