From: Saber <saberteamr@aol.commode> Subject: [PW!] The Discovery Date: Friday, June 18, 1999 11:17 PM Saber wandered around the corridors of the ATR complex, trying to find the Pokemon testing labs. He had just woken up, and upon finding himself in a hospital bed, immediately tried to get up and leave. This had proven more difficult than he first thought, seeing as how he was in alot of pain. He finally made it up, and proceeded to retrieve his personal belongings. The first thing he noticed was that one of his Poke Balls was missing. "The hell?? Where's my Gyarados??" Ignoring the pain in his midsection, he made his way out of his room and down to the exit. On his way, he passed a cart with painkillers on it. "These'll come in handy." he thought to himself, pocketing a few bottles of aspirin. He took a few from one bottle, and replaced it on the cart. Out through the sliding doors he proceeded, wondering idly why there was no one on duty to monitor him. His question was answered when a guard popped out of nowhere and ordered him to "Halt!" "Grrr....what now?" Saber snipped, angrily. "Sorry sir, but you're supposed to remain in the medical wing until the doctors have cleared you." The guard replied with an obviously rehearsed speech. "Listen, I don't have time for you, so if you'll just point me to the labs, I'll be on my way." "Sorry sir, I can't let you do that, rules are rules and--OOF" he was cut off as Saber thwacked him upside the head with his bag. "Damnit, I didn't wanna do that. How can I cover this up...." He searched thru his bag, and produced a martini glass, complete with little paper umbrella. "Heh, always nice to have onna these around..." He propped the guard up against the wall, and placed the martini glass in his hand. "I hate to do this to the guy, but I don't have time to mess around." Making sure the guard didn't fall over, he headed down the corrider. Passing by a door with a window on it, Saber glanced inside instinctively. Within the room, he sees a Gyarados in a huge plexiglass cage, with wires hooked to its head leading down to a bank of computers. "AH!!!" Saber yelled, opening the door and running into the room. A group of scientists looked up from the brain-wave scanner they were studying. "We're sorry, this is a restricted area. You'll have to leave." one of the scientists said. "Leave, nothing! That's my Pokemon!" Saber said, pointing to the Gyarados in the cage. The scientist sweatdropped and turned back to his colleagues. #He wasn't supposed to be awake yet!# #Now what do we do?# #We're gonna be in deep sh...# Saber could hear the scientists whispering amongst themselves. The group stopped talking and turned to face Saber with huge cheesy smiles on their faces. "We're ever so sorry about this, we were just running some tests on your Gyarados to determine why it knew the move Psychic. Gyarados do not learn psychic in the wild, and our tests with the Psychic TM have proved to be failures." "That's none of your business, this Pokemon has been my friend ever since I was little, and you had no right to touch it without consent. I don't even wanna think about what would happen if I told Raven that several of his scientists were *stealing* Pokemon..." At that, the scientists froze. One of them spoke up "Well...if its any consolation, the tests we ran show that your Gyarados has an intelligence level 134% higher than its species normally has. However you got it to learn psychic, it obviously upgraded its IQ quite a bit. We hope that you can forget that this ever happened..." "Fine, just remember, NEVER touch my Pokemon again, or you'll be having another meeting with my friend here." Saber says, gesturing to UV-ultra. "Now, I must be going." Saber reached for UV-ultra's Pokeball, which was sitting on one of the computer banks. He flipped a switch which opened a door to the cage. In the process, he was suddenly reminded of the pain in his abdomen. "Damnit...owww..." he said under his breath as he recalled UV-ultra. Making his way back through the complex, he stopped at one of the security stations. "Do you happen to know where Sirius is?" Saber asked the guard. "Uh yes, he left out the east entrance a short while ago with Derrick, I don't know if they're still on the Island however." the guard replied. "Thanks." Saber walked painfully towards the eastern side of the complex. While he walked, the pain started to lessen, although it was still considerable. By the time he got to the exit, he was able to walk normally, however any pressure on his wound caused him pain. "No pain, no gain." he said to himself. He pulled out his shades from his pocket and put them on before stepping into the bright sunlight. Here on Ivory Island the effects of the sunlight were twice as much, with the light reflecting off of the pure white sand back into a person's eyes. He saw Sirius and Derrick a short distance away. >"Phew... that's one less thing we have to worry about," said Sirius. > "And what would that be?" Saber asked, joining the duo. "Oh, uh, hi Saber. We were just talking about you." Sirius responded. "This is Derrick." he added, introducing the two. "Nice to meet ya." Saber said, extending his hand to shake Derrick's. "Saber, I thought you were in the medical wing." Sirius put in. "I was, until I found one of my Pokemon missing. But that's another story. The main thing is, I found UV-ultra and everything's just peachy. *OW* Except for this damn bruise, that is. So, what's on the agenda for today?" Subconciously, Saber wondered about UV-ultra, and if this freak accident caused by Mark's "shark" device would cause any problems down the road. He sincerely hoped this newfound intelligence wouldn't cause UV-ultra to become disobediant in battle, because UV-ultra was the strongest and oldest Pokemon he had.
