From: Goola the Hutt <goola2u@aol.compostheap> Subject: [PW!] To Sleep, Perchance to Dream... What a Nightmare! Date: Friday, June 18, 1999 10:43 AM Asleep in Erika's gym, Shard's dreams began... Shard was in a dark tunnel. He continued, but he arn into something. He turned, and hit a wall again. And again... This wasn't a tunnel, Shard realized... It was a labyrynth! Suddenly, Shard heard a laugh. An evil, haunting laugh. Shard knew that laugh. "Sabrina!" he shouted. "Show yourself!" Sabrina just laughed again. "Don't you know," echoed the cruel voice from every direction, "that I'm everywhere?" "Then why haven't you caught up to me?" asked Shard. "Why does a Persian play with a Rattata before eating it?" laughed Sabrina. Shard just ran. Blocked in every direction. This wasn't a maze, he realized. It was a tomb. Unable to run, unable to fight, all he could do was scream. --- Shard awoke in a cold sweat, tears of horror still running down his cheeks. Erika ran in, green nightgown trailing on the floor, clutching Gloom tightly. She seemed to be little more calm than Shard himself. "What's wrong?" she asked worriedly. "I heard a scream!" "It was me," said Shard, still trembling. "I... I had the most horrible nightmare." "I'm just glad that you're okay, that everything's okay," said Erika. "Everything's okay?" laughed Shard. "Look around, Erika. RK's been turned into a warrior Clefairy, I'm the target of a psychic manhunt, and... Everything is NOT okay!" "You're alive. Be grateful," said Erika. "Now," she added, "rest. Tomorrow comes, and you never know what it may bring." Erika left the room, and Shard tried to go back to sleep. But Sabrina's voice returned. "That was not your nightmare," she laughed to him. "It was of my design, and it was I who delivered it. Rest, for you don't know what's going to happen tomorrow." Shad, exhausted, slept... TBC? Shard FIelds, who's been writting some darn short stuff lately...
