From: ShadowSchitz <ShadowSchitz@hotmail.com> Subject: [PW!] Tomo's first heist. Date: Monday, June 14, 1999 9:53 PM Tomo smiled to himself as he watched Sabrina fight another hapless trainer. He imagined quite a few young people came with their barely trained pets, expecting someone like the cheerful Cerulean sisters or mild Erika. It made him chuckle with sadistic pleasure when he saw the surprise on the kids’ faces when they found out how difficult Sabrina could be. Most trainers were such idiots. They went up against their betters without thought or strategy, expecting to win by brute force or sheer luck alone. Tomo knew better. He realized he could never face Sabrina with his only two Pokemon. Not in a fair fight at least. Strategy, ingenuity and old-fashioned cheating would bring a victory for him. The young trainer’s last Pokemon fainted at last. Tomo stepped forward with his Drowzee following close on his heels, as the youngster left the arena, looking immensely disappointed. Tomo smiled confidently at Sabrina. Sabrina sweat-dropped as she got a good look at her next Challenger. The tall man wore an overly extravagant black and purple cloak that hung down to his shiny, knee-high boots. Peacock feathers were braided in his long black hair. She silently wondered why she got all the creepy trainers. "All right, we’ll use three Pokemon." Tomo nodded. He knew that would be the case. He also knew which Pokemon Sabrina would use. He watched as Sabrina released a Kadabra. He calmly chose a Pokeball and released a Starmie. "Kadabra, use Psychic." It was a powerful attack, but Starmie stood up against it, since it was type 2 psychic itself. Tomo continued to smile and softly commanded, "Recover." A pained look came over Sabrina’s face. Tomo knew why, both their Pokemon could continue recovering for hours. This battle would be a long one, unless someone got a very lucky shot in. Tomo, however, was not going to allow that to happen. The battle wore on, with Sabrina concentrating fully on the two Pokemon in the Arena. For a brief moment she was confused, because she did not hear her challenger give commands, though the Starmie continued to fight well. She could see the man’s gaudy cloak fluttering out of the corner of her eye, so she did not think much of it. All this time, Tomo crept along the wall outside the arena until he stood behind the psychic gym leader. He wore only a tight black nylon shirt and black pants; his cloak hung on a broom stick that his Drowzee supported. Tomo was rather proud of his idea, which he got from watching the quick change technique in samurai movies. It kept Sabrina from looking for him, though if she really took the time to look up, she would see through his deception easily. Even the waiting trainers were too engrossed in the battle to notice what he was doing. Tomo gave Starmie a few hand signals, ordering it to use Water Gun and Recover one more time. He swiftly grabbed a Pokeball from Sabrina’s belt as she was distracted by the sudden attack. This time, when Kadabra used Psychic, Starmie fainted. Sabrina smiled. "Finally! Choose your next Poke— what the?" Tomo chuckled from behind Sabrina. "Return, Sutaamii," he said as the Starmie was sucked back into its Pokeball. Sabrina whirled about. Tomo stood, smiling hastily and holding an Abra in his arm. Sabrina’s eyes widened as she felt her belt, noticing the missing ball. "What do you think you’re doing?" "Making my exit. Give my regards to officer Jenny, from Tomo." Tomo took a deep breath and gave Drowzee a hand signal. Drowzee let the cloak-covered broomstick fall and opened its mouth, belching forth a thick cloud of foul gas. It quickly spread though the entire room, causing the trainers and Pokemon to cough and choke. "Poison Gas!" GASPED Sabrina. She recalled her Kadabra and headed toward the exit. "Everyone, get out!" Sabrina was not worried about Tomo. There was only one exit from the gym. She waited expectedly outside the exit, feeling ill from the poison, but Tomo did not appear. As the others hurried out, Tomo ran to hid Drowzee and grabbed it up. The Pokemon took this as its cue to stop its attack. As quickly as possible, without taking a breath, Tomo cried out, "Abra, Teleport." For a moment, Tomo felt slightly ill as the world seemed to blur and turn upside-down. Then in the next moment, he was gasping for air in a Pokecenter. He started to giggle with pleasure. He had done it; started making his name in the most spectacular way possible with his resources, by stealing one of the gym leaders’ very own Pokemon. With all those trainers there to see. Tomo looked up from where he stood, still holding the Abra and Drowzee, noticing that everyone in the room was watching him with confusion. His face fell, though not because of the stares. He had expected the Abra to Teleport him to Saffron’s Pokecenter. However, he had never seen this Center in his life. Tomo blinked and asked out loud in his shock, "Where am I?" TBC ----------------- I hope that wasn't too long. I was wondering, if there's anyone in a Pokemon center right now with nothing interesting planned, if you would like to write me into your story. I could be anywhere now, so it would be easy. Besides, I'm not sure what Tomo had planned next. I don't think he's one for thinking ahead too far. Thanks, I hope you all like my introduction OK. --- ShadowSchitz Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
