Subject: [PW!] A Great Rivalry Comes To An End....Or Does It? Date: 14 Jul 1999 19:21:24 GMT From: ricky5687@aol.comSquirtle (Squirtle the -insert weekly title-) Organization: AOL http://www.aol.com Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon [NS] It's been a while since my last posting of PW!, so I might be a little off as to where Eeve and Darwin were. As it was left, Eeve had just come off of a loss to Sabrina, and Darwin was pretty mad at Eeve for sending out his long-time enemy Vulcan, the Vulpix. This post is just sort of a "warm-up", to get myself situated with writing these types of things again. It'll be a _really_ short one. *PokeSpeech will be noted in (), as opposed to ""* [/NS] ********************************************************************** Eeve and Darwin headed for a quiet area in Saffron, where they could plan out a strategy for their next match. "I think we just need some more training. That last match was well fought, but we just didn't have enough power." Eeve said. (That's a good idea.) Darwin replied. Eeve released her five pokémon. She set pairs of two to square off against each other. "Let's see, I'll put Porey against my Flareon, Bolt against my Eevee, and...." Eeve pondered what was left. "I guess this means that Darwin has to face Vulcan!" (This ought to be good.) Darwin snickered. Eeve decided to let Darwin face Vulcan before any other training matches, so they could get it over with, once and for all. Darwin obviously wanted to go by his own command, and Vulcan didn't want to be told what to do in a match with such value. In the open field, all was quiet. The sounds of people walking and chatting around them were blocked out, as Darwin and Vulcan were focused. They both knew that a win would distinguish power and glory over their rival, and they were ready to begin. They placed themselves forty feet from each other, giving space to attack. Darwin opened the match by charging towards Vulcan. Eeve could already picture injuries to either pokémon. Split-seconds before contact was made, Vulcan leaped out of harm's way, and into............a rose bush. While Eeve started to help Vulcan pull the thorns out of its fur, Darwin was still charging, full speed, because he had no idea when to expect to make contact, so he kept running, seeing blurs of grass, people, and buildings; having no thought besides making Vulcan squeal. His continuous pace didn't stop for two minutes until...........he hit a tree. Vulcan looked like a fiery red porcupine, and Darwin had a lump twice the size of his head. "I hope you both learned your lesson..." Eeve said, as she carried them both to the pokémon center. -- Squirtle5687 Sig v11.1s ICQ# - 33797130 http://welcome.to/squirtle http://www.deja.com/~pokecenter "Bring Dima with you!" - The PokeCapn's easy street way to being kicked out of Bible Camp
