He gazed out over the open waters, the sun setting in the distance. His mask was gone. Shattered by his own hands when he found out. He was illuminated by a green aura. He had a look of murder in his eyes. Onlookers from a ridge whispered to each other about the visitor that had stood there, staring out at sea all day long. They all quietly wondered what he was holding that was causing him to be covered with that strange green light. Spectre's hands clenched into fists. The glow around his body flared up. It was staring to cast shadows. He slowly brung his arms out in front of himself. He pointed his palms towards the sea, touched his hands together. And screamed. --- Any Other Way, Prologue --- A bright green blast of energy skimmed across the water. The spectators all showed some form of fear or shock, recoiling back slightly at the sight. None of them had ever seen anything like it and, with a little luck, they never would again. Something off in the distance must have gotten hit, as there was a brief explosion. Spectre turned around, a look of absolute pain on his face. For the first time, he noticed the crowd that had gathered. Reporters took this chance and ran over, cameras taking pictures, and microphones being shoved in his face. "Sir, what was that?" "How did you do that?" "Was it some kind of machine?" "Tell us!" "Yes, tell us!" "What was it? Don't be stingy keeping it to yourself!" Spec growled and narrowed his eyes. From the distance, an explosion could be seen. As far back as the Seafoam Islands, the sky was lit up for the second time that night. A pair of young trainers, about to enter the cave got the best possible seats away from the danger zone. They hadn't been able to see as much as they wanted. They only saw the clouds swirling around the Fuschia area. That had been followed by a bright green pillar of energy parting through and slamming to the ground. The carnage at the shore was great. A crater had been formed by the pillar of light. Body parts were scattered all around it. The crowd had all run off when the clouds had begun to swirl around like they did. Spec stood in the center of the crater, breathing heavily. He hadn't done -that- in awhile. He looked around at the death he had caused, adjusted his trenchcoat, and headed for town. It was time to get back to business. No more silliness. No more fooling around. He had a few calls to make. -- Reg
